POLITICS:Clean or Worthless? |
|
i am already twenty two years old but yet im not a registered voter....its reall my choice. in our province, everything seems so dirty espaecially the politics and it seems that they were not worthy for my vote. Vote is all about money in our place, whats the use of voting, even the SK (pag-asa ng bayan pa ba ang kabataan) nabibili na rin. Talamak ang bilihan ng boto at wala naman ginagawa ang mga opisyal sila pa ang nangunguna. How about in your place? is it clean or worthless?

1. gaiza12 (106) | 3 months ago | It's also worthless in my town, but im still going to vote this coming election. You get the money they will give you and then don't vote for those dirty politicians. You already know that they're dirty, so simply don't vote for them, they wouldn't know that you didn't vote for him/her anyway. But it's your choice not to register and vote. We will all have to think for what's best for our country and not let those dirty politicians prevail!!

2. strawberrychocodahi (2471) | 3 months ago | Hello there Jatacs nice topic but I do hope next time you post a topic, it will be "ALL" in English as to what Mylot rule is so that most members can understand and participate.
Going back to the topic, well whether you like it or not, politics is really dirty. It is not the issue of location, because wherever you are, what nationality you have, in my opinion, Politics will always be dirty.
But voting is your way to exercise your freedom of whom you like to seat as leader. All candidates will have their own platforms on how they will govern and plan for the country's future and progress. But if you chose not to vote, just don't complain if the leader that would sit as President would be corrupt or injustice or whatever because you withheld your rights by boycotting.

rsa101 (7434) | 3 months ago | Yeah I think you are right about that. Those that don't vote doesn't have the right to complain because they are allowing these corrupt politicians from flourishing in their communities. It is our right to choose them and for them not to be exercise is just plain indifference to what is happening to his own community.

3. remaster74 (2304) | 2 months ago | politics in its total outlook seems worthless. But if you sit down and think about it, you have to vote, my friend. Not in order to help someone be elected and then make your life worse. Help the little ones become bigones. The bigones become littleones. And help creating the need to create more little ones that can become one day bigones. Politics, really is a dirty place to get messed up with. But your life depends on it.

4. agv0419 (2407) | 2 months ago | For me SK is worthless they always want the funds that they are getting I don't see any of there projects that are helpful to the community. I'm a registered voter and yes elections always have money involved politicians have many promises that never granted after they are won.

| jatacs (70) | 2 months ago | yes at first im impress with the government to give the youth an opprtunity to govern and voice out but after what happened in our place, im very much dissapointed. they say youth is the hope of the fatherland but in our province SK vote (youth) can be bought. I hope its not happening everywhere but in my experience its really happening, sad to say.

5. Apple3Cranberry (615) | 2 months ago | I think I was about 22 or something when I registered to vote. I've only voted once however. And I wouldn't have registered if it were not for the persuasive persistence of a friend. At the voting place I was just sitting on a chair with the register form in my hands, thinking of all the reasons I had believed in for not voting. It took me awhile to sign up, and I did it bitterly. It seemed like everybody else was so easy about the process. In, and out. But I voted... I just filled in a few dots. Here, there. Ones I recognized, ones that sounded neat. It was almost impossible, the mood of the place. I don't think I'm very political! Well, perhaps I am. But I am political in other ways. Such as vegetarian rights, the right to comfort any victim and such. You can believe in love, and then let your life fall into place... lol!

6. nautilus33 (748) | 2 months ago | Hi! I think the politics are completly worthless, at least in my country. They do nothing to make the situation better, the only vote they laws, who are better for them, like biggers pays for the politics, lower taxes, and may other laws of this kind, that are good only for them. What will you say if I tell you, that the average monthly salary is about 250 euros and many people get even lower. There are thousands unemployed peoples who are looking for a job but it,s worthless, because the politics don't make nothing to improve the economy, they only sitting in the parliament and get their high salaries. But I also still vote because if I don't then will come even worthless politics than these ones and than it will be more harder to live in BULGARIA!!!

7. fatherblogger (485) | 2 months ago | To me, I think there will never be a clean and honest election anywhere in the world. The more important thing is to exercise your right to vote and watch carefully.
Politics will always be a dirty game, but we can minimize the dirt if we will unite to clean it.

8. eLsMarie (1157) | 2 months ago | for my twenty years of existence, i haven't got the chance to witness a clean politics here in the Philippines. i guess that's how the cookie crumbles...:D whether we paid much effort in improving this country, majority of Filipinos are still very much passive about the things that are going on around us.

9. tokouchi (126) | 2 months ago | We all know it's not clean, but what we should know is that it's not worthless. If you don't vote, someone else votes in your name. Which means that not registering to vote actually helps those evil politicians to rack up additional votes. We need to be proactive. As a citizen, it is your right to vote. It's high time we act and make a difference. Even if it all fails, at least we can tell ourselves that we did our part.

10. bryandairogarcia (193) | 2 months ago | I'm 24 and still haven't voted.
The registration process itself is twisted. I will not waist my time waiting in line or trying to figure out if I'm at the right precint or not. They can buy my vote all they want to but I will not take part in the current political system of this country
I will vote when I gain confidence in the political system. When I was younger and there were a couple of good presidential choices, I would ask my parents to vote for who I think is going to turn out good. I learned later on that no matter how good a person is, others will always find dirt in them.
It's all about mindset. The filipinos are not yet ready to be unselfish and give up their own personal interests in power. I'm not expecting for a perfect political system, just one that is not so obviously crappy and demeaning of what the Philippines used to be - a great country.
