I Dont get the Problem.I get an Error after 3%

if you are getting this error only when you are burning any cd through Nero? you can try simple copy and paste some files and try to write that files to cd. check if it happened, and if it is still hard to write files to cd then i think there might be some problem with your drive, try to clean lens of your drive or change with another one.

This is pure guess work on my part but what about adjusting the speed the the cd/dvd drive writes! In Windows explorer when you see the drives listed if you right click on the drive icon and go to something like properties, I'm thinking that you can change the speed there somewhere, try changing it to a slower write speed. I'm sure I heard something like this before. Sorry, not much help otherwise. Andrew

i've run into such issues quite often in the past.

someone suggested you try another speed, that would be a good start, you can do it right from nero itself. some discs even if mentioned would be at some speed are indeed compatible with lower ones.

next if it is only from HDD to CD/DVD & you don't experience this when doing a DVD copy, then it may be a problem with the transfer, again a lower speed burn would help diagnose. then check out if your hard-disk has no bad clusters or is not too fragmented. run a chkdsk on it.

you must be sure if the drives (HDD/DVD) are IDE ones, that they are well configured, check out if they are connected on the same cable, then on device manager - IDE ATA/ATAPI controllers - Primary or Secondary IDE Channel - Tab: Advanced settings, the transfer mode preferred & the current tansfer mode should read DMA if available & Ultra DMA ...
else you may get a low performance or failure.

if all fails, look for a firmware update on the net & flash your DVD Writer, try again & then if needed try it on another PC ...

all these so requires some ease with the PC/Windows Environment, if necessary seek assistance. i also assume you already tried the lens cleaner, etc ...

Sony DVD/RW always having comptability problems and other issues.. though I have sony only in my system ;-) you try to burn CD/DVD with some other software like PowerISO / Windows inbuilt writing system. and also try to use Sony CD-DVD.. if problem persist just send hardware to local vendor which will clean lens.
