What is your best childhood memory? |
|
When you think back to the times when you were a little innocent kid and didn't know what worries were - what are your best memories? Things that make you smile and immediately send you back those 10, 20, 30.... years?
I think my best childhood memories are the sleepovers with my best friend. We'd prepare a midnight snack and stayed up until midnight talking and giggling. By then we were so tired that we had a bite of chocolate - that was the purpose of staying up after all - and promptly fell asleep.
It still makes me smile!

Something about sleepovers bring out the best conversations in people. You know what the best thing to do, is to reconnect with those people! Re-initiating old friendships like that can be really healthy, and really fun, especially if you get lots of chocolate!
My favorite memory as a child was sitting with a couple of my friends at a local lake late at night. One especially starry nights, you could stand on the dock and look at all the stars reflecting off the water. It looked as if you were staring right down into space. It was beautiful.

Sounds a beautiful memory as well. I can nearly see it myself.

| 2. styckwithchrist (6) | 2 months ago | Gosh, this made me think a bit. But I have to say any memories with my father. He passed away a couple of years ago. He was my absolute best friend. Some of my best memories with him were relaxing together at the end of the day. I had a hard day at school, him at work. When my mom and siblings would go to bed, we would sit down together, watch tv, play a game, watch football, or just talk sometimes. Man, just writing this brings it all back. I miss him. Thanks for bringing him back, even for just the moment.

3. hellcowboy (4851) | 2 months ago | I am not sure what I would consider my best childhood memory because I have several things that I remember that make me smile, one of those memories would be every Christmas and my family shared when I was a kid because Christmas always made me smile, another memory would be when me and my parents went to Disney World with my cousins band because it was the first time I had ever been to Disney World and it was awesome,I had a blast even though it was cold, and I was glad I was there with my parents, and I hope me and my wife get to make a memory like that with our kids, one day whenever we have kids, which we will not have kids until we are sure we are ready.

5. randylovesdar (616) | 2 months ago | My best childhood memory was Christmas. The week of Christmas my grandmother and I would spend hours baking cookies and making candy. We would give a lot of these items away as gifts. My grandmother would also help me make homemade ornaments to give to my mom and my other grandmother. As an adult I still make homemade gifts and give them away as gifts. I am hoping by next year I will be able to make some money by selling some of these items online. I know it takes awhile to start an online business and it takes money. Unfortunately, money is something I do not have enough of.

| 6. minkus1010 (1) | 2 months ago | Thinking back to my childhood memories, I can't help but think of my Little League days. I swore back then life was so simple and alot of my great friends today I met through Little League. We would imitate professional players batting stances, it felt like we were profesionals. I'm not sure if it was because of the competition level or just the pure love of the game but that level of baseball was my favorite compared to playing in High School and College. You played because you loved the sport, before things got political.

7. malpoa (528) | 2 months ago | Hmm thank you for reminding about such a wonderful time. I guess in every ones life, there must be somehting they cherish for life...In my case, I was the youngest in my family, both on my fathers side and mother's side. So it was fun to be pampered. I admit that those times I was carefree and didnt understand when my sister one day told me that life wasnt a bed of roses...now I do...children are innocent and lovely. I was at my mischevious best and since I was the youngest, all my elder cousins never bothered to include me in their group when they planned some treat for themselves. So out of revenge and anger, I used to spy their movements and decisions and tell them to our parents!!! They used to call me drum as I couldnt keep a thing to myself...hi hi...
