Do you feel too free during working hour...

I love my job. It's really schedule friendly and there are peak season and lean season. There are times when I can't even sit down the whole day and there are days when I really rack my brains to see what I can do. LOL!. There are times when I dream of being in another company with a higher pay but then for now, I have to be content with where I am.

I really like to have a lot of works than nothing to do. I always keep myself busy coz i prefer to be than to get bored. That is why I was looking for a job that would keep me busy instead of having a job that would keep me thinking what's to do next. I would feel useless as I love to achieve something or accomplish more things.

I like my job. I am working right now.. Too free? Probably. but I use my free time by going on the internet. so I am not bored.
my job although slow at times is important for lots of people. I am an answering service operator. I am answering for many different companies. so I have to be available all the time. I am the 3rd shift operator and I am hear alone all night.
If one needs to use the bathroom or make some food- you must do so quickly, in case the phone rings.
There are many doctors, hospitals police and fire departments that I talk to (and More) in the night- so they would have problems If I was not here to do my job.
Although slow- it is a fulfilling job.

Nope, I don't. I don't feel useless when I don't have much to do.

And here's why. I work in the service industry (lodging) and summers are the big money makers. The summer in my head equals crows, which equals a lot of patience necessary to get through the day, which in the end equals revenue. That is the point - you want to be busy, in order to make money, right? But after all is said and done, sometimes at the end of the day, I find myself telling myself "Can't wait for the winter". Which means that I will be able to actually take a lunch brake during my 8-hour shift (yep, there are Lots of days in the summer time where lunch does not consist as a word in a commonly-used vocabulary), take my time with a phone call, and don't feel like a slave after all said and done.

But you'd have to be careful. If your days always feel like you're loitering, then it must be that you're doing (or Not doing) something wrong. I personally would not like to feel this way permanently about my job. I would probably find myself something to do for my own interest (hey you myLooter), and take advantage of the free but also paid time. I think it's a matter of "time management" rather than "activity management". What say you?

Some days I am really busy and some days really nothing to do. When that happens, I just invite some other staff during break for coffee and snacks in our canteen, so I can get to know them better and may be give a helping hand or a word of comfort and encouragement. At other times, I browse the internet for free education/information that can help me with my work, or motivate me better.

I am a homemaker/stay at home mother and although some may not consider it a job, I do and I absolutely love it.
As for work, i think there are days when everyone feels useless at what they do and dislike what they do for a living. I think in todays world one should be happy to have a job and be making money. Is there anyone that you can talk to that can possibly help to make your situation better?

Well i don't feel really free when I am working. It seems that something is holding on me controlling me and that is the responsibility to do my job. I love my work and I set a goal to finish all of the task given to me each day. It is very hard to work but it's worth-it when you use the money that you earn from working hard.

I like my job, particularly because my employer trust me to do what I was hired to do and leaves me alone to do it.
