CALLING ALL ARTISTS! Needed, a new poster parody! | | I recently saw the original "V" series in its entirety, & was astonished how closely the story paralleled the rise of Obama & his minions, who also cloaked themselves in the mantle of "change" & "hope." The story line was promising, but almost everything else about the series was really awful. It seemed a shame...that the idea was, at its core, a good one, but that the execution was so poor.
But now along comes the new, much improved "V" & it's also a clear parody of the same conspiratorial nightmare.
I'm told that the new series was begun before Obama's reign began, & was meant to be a sly commentary (& condemnation) of the Bush administration, but frankly, Bush's motives for his actions never seemed malevolent, merely misguided, to me. In any case, they never moved so damned fast as Obama's sweeping changes, nor did Bush seem to want us to become a soviet nation. Obama clearly does.
Okay, so here's my idea. I think that, for all its cheesiness, the original series red uniforms had a much more identifiably "otherness" aspect to the Visitors' militaristic style, & would have, therefore, a better visual impact than the tasteful outfits the new "Vs" wear. So I propose that someone make a new parody poster--in the same way the Obama-Joker poster was made--by photo-manipulation. It would depict Obama (& perhaps Michelle) as "Supreme Leader (& Diana, the witchy-eyed dominatrix), in the original red uniforms, unless the artist could make a good case for using the less-distinctive, new clothes.
I know I'd buy that poster! And spray-paint a big ol' red V on it! Just to be authentic, I mean...
Maggiepie IMPEACH HIM.

| | | | | | 1. Rollo1 (1626) | 2 months ago | Regardless of what they say about it NOT being about Obamamania, the television interview scene is unmistakeable. The alien tells the reporter that he must not ask questions that put the aliens in a negative light, they must be seen in a positive light only and if he does not agree to that, they will not allow him to interview her. The alien also promises the world "universal health care". How on earth is that a parody of Bush? When did the Bush administration promise that?
The proof that it is an anti-Obama statement is the fact that ABC fired the guy in charge of the series after they saw the first four episodes.
I thought it was funny and obviously people tuned in and didn't tune out because ABC had fairly good ratings for the premier episode.
I don't think it will be very long before someone makes a V poster the way they came up with the Joker poster. I can't wait to see it.
