Would you want to work in a call center?

well i don't have any experience with working in call centres but i think you should give it a try... i think i am not really good at dealing with people like that, give it your shot

I'm looking forward to work as a call center agent, as well as being in the graveyard shift. I'm a student nurse and will be on different duty hours including the night shift. I think the negative side of being a call center agent is not the time but the kind of work they are doing, they are sitting, focusing on the monitor, and drinking lots of coffee for almost more than 10 hours, I think, and they do it everyday. But that's life, if you want to have a good income you should sacrifice some things and be hard working. Happy mylotting!

No, definitely not. In fact I would probably avoid working in a call center AT ALL costs! It sounds like a really tough and tiring job. It's sedentary, and you have to be EXTREMELY good with customers..And while I'm OK in customer service, I couldn't imagine working in it, over the phone, dealing with customer problems ALL DAY LONG. But, a job is a job, and if I had to I certainly would, although it would take a lot of adjustment.

I have my share of working as a call center agent and work on night shift and it's not easy. Mondays, tuesdays and wednedays are OK but it gets worse come thursday and friday. There are times that you have to literally put matchsticks between your eyelids just to stay awake. I even recall having a dream while i was standing up and I only noticed it when a colleague on mine called my attention. There was also that weird feeling where you feel lightheaded after you take a bath at 10 in the evening before going to work. And the worse part is going home after your shift feeling dehydrated, sleepy and feeling like a zombie when the sun shines on you. I was thinking that if I'm not going to change careers then I would go crazy from that job in due time. Those are just minor issues, the worst part is to take calls where most of them are complaints. But at least the pay is good but I feel it's not just enough to compensate for sacrifices and health issues that goes with it. Cheers!

Hello Kara! I actually do not have any idea on working in a call center. If you are good in communicating with people, it worths to be given a try. Yes, it could be tiring, but we will all be tired at the end of the day anyway lol, no matter what the job is. My brother in law has night shift in his duty (no, he doesn't work in a call center). If it's his turn for a night shift, then he'll be sleeping in the morning and about two hours before going to work. That's the way he manages his rest when working on night shift.
