When I'm feeling blue... |
|
There are times when I feel that I am more open and comfortable to share my problems with other people whom I have never or just met than those that I am closer with...
Do you think it's odd? Do you ever feel the same way, too?? Please share.
Thanks in advance!

It can also be the reason you mentioned above of being embarrassed to discuss about it with the people I know because I guess it might change one's opinion towards me. Do you feel that too??

3. Hatley (21883) | 2 months ago | hi corrycrystal I know that for me its easier to share my problems in mylot because I am more comfortable writing to others than a face to face talk. It is not odd, but quite human as we relax with those on the other side of the computer.

corrycrystal (1116) | 2 months ago | Yes, that's what I feel... Often times, I feel much more at ease writing and share my problems here because most probably in real world I am not ready to talk to the people I am close with face to face because I am scared that sometimes things can get complicated.

4. Lucky09 (770) | 2 months ago | hi corry^^;; i think it has a good side since those people whom you are not so close with will give you an advice objectively, free from any prejudice as well as prejudgement and irregardless of your background and other stories. i don't think it's odd. though the advices they give are from a general point of view too. you may feel more comfortable thinking maybe that you will not meet them again and won't be shy to what had you shared about.

5. sandymay16 (1330) | 2 months ago | I don't think that's odd. And I do sometimes share some problems to people I don't meet face to face. I just feel that people who hear our problems like in mylot or other sites don't condemn you or blame you but gives advices that are more objective and more ideal. I'm not saying that close friends or family do not give sound advises but there are times when we feel more at a loose end when sharing to close friends or families. And because the phrase "I told you so..." is the thing we avoid subconsciously or altogether LOL.

6. paula27661 (5569) | 2 months ago | Don’t feel odd because that is exactly how I feel! I am more comfortable opening up to someone who is neutral in my life than those I have emotional attachments to. This is why I started to see a counsellor a couple of weeks ago. It’s good to talk to an expert that is not emotionally involved with me. I find that I feel more comfortable publicly speaking to a group of strangers than to a crowd of people I know and who know me.

corrycrystal (1116) | 2 months ago | I agree with what you said about someone who is neutral and has no emotional attachments in order to express ourselves clearly. Sometimes we just become tongue-tied when someone close or a family asks about our problems, but we are able to open up freely to those who have no connections in our life before.
