Have You Always Just Used Public Transportation?

I used public transportation for a long time especially when I was a studemnt. I agree with you, public transportation is much cheaper than owning a vehicle. But I started using a vehicle after my kids were born, it is more expensive but it is way more practical when you have kids. I can not wait all the time with the kids for the bus to come, it's a lot of hassle. Take care.

I have never even learned to drive. When I was young, I had a nervous condition which would have made controlling a vehicle very difficult. If I had learned to drive I might have been very dangerous.

For most of my life, I have lived in major cities with at least good, if not excellent, public transportation facilities.

Where we now live, in Frankfurt, Germany, we live a five minute walk from the local railway station, and we can be virtually anywhere important in the are inside half-an-hour. The public transport service here is extremely good and very reliable.

We cannot rely on public transport as we live miles away from town.We would love to use public transport,we have no buses on a sunday and the buses don't start running till 9am on a saturday.It costs nearly £5.00 to get to our nearest town anyway so when we go on the bus it is a novelty.My husband goes to work at 4am in the morning no buses even run his way,our buses stop running at 8pm and don't start up again until about 7.30am.We do have a train but it is so remote and stops in town miles away from the shops it takes ages especially if you are loaded down with shopping.My sons ticket for school costs us £70 every four weeks on the bus,that is a student saver.On occasions I feel like moving nearer to the town as the buses run every ten minutes everywhere and there is even a night service,how lovely that would be.

Like you, I live in a small town also and we don't have public transportation either, but if we did, I would probably use it. It would save on wear and tear on my car and be cheaper.
