Do you sell on ebay? Need some advice please!  |

 I think that this is a discussion to a certain extent! I do however need some advice! I have created a seller's account on ebay and I want to start selling some of my things. What I would like to know is, how do you deal with the weight issue? Say I was selling a book for example I would pack it at home and I know that I can print my own postage directly from the Royal mail website(for those in the UK). Do you have your own scales and do this yourself? I'm just worried about getting the postage right and I know that this is based on weight. Anyway, thanks for any assistance on this. We can still discuss your experiences regarding being a seller on ebay! Andrew

I thought that the site would calculate for you, based on weight and where it was going, but here in the US I also see ads about standard boxes that you do not weigh, they just go by size. I hope I learn something here, too.

2.  MsTickle (8845) | 3 weeks ago |  Do you have any kitchen scales? Digital ones preferably. It seems to me, going by my own experience that people calculate the price of postage then add anything from $5 to $10 dollars based on handling (what your time is worth to pack it, travel to and from the post office to mail it; and the packaging itself) it's almost like theft I feel but it would certainly cover you if you weighed in a couple milligrams underweight.
I've been an ebay buyer for years and I'm now wanting to sell something. I have so much stuff but I don't know what any of it is worth. I too have some books, LARGE ones and I think the cost of postage (they are heavy) will make the process quite prohibitive.:(

I have some kitchen scales but they are tiny and I don't thing they would be adequate for weighing some of the things I want to sell.
