Winter driving

What are your thoughts of winter driving? Do you manage? I hate the fact that I have to change to winter tires. Last year, I did not change, and just kept my all season tires. There were a couple of fishtailing, but I made it through OK. At where you at, do you have any troubles of people driving on snowy roads?

Yuck! I don't own a car anymore, but I used to hate driving in the winter, unless it was one of those crisp, clear, sunny winter days, right after a storm--once the roads were cleared off. I live in Upstate New York and in a rural area with lots of hills, so I've had my share of winter driving thrills. lol

I could manage the snow ok, if I had to, but absolutely hate freezing rain and would do my best to avoid it at all costs! Now, I just call a cab if I need to go somewhere in the winter--but, even so, if it's too bad, I won't go out--it's just not worth the hassle to me.

Unfortunately, I haven't won the lottery yet. So I still have to drive to work. And that include even snowy days, through snowy hills, and all the driving thrills. Come to think of it, fresh snow is really no problem. Black ice or day old snow on the road is.

Oh, I forgot about black ice--that's even worse than freezing rain! :-( Well, just be careful--as I'm sure you will be. Did you get your tires changed yet, or not going to like last year? We haven't had any snow yet in my area, but I expect that will chnge in the next few weeks, we usually get a good one around Thanksgiving.
