How to turn a bad situation into a good one

Hi my lotters I know I have not post a discussion here for a long time but today I feel the need to do so and I hope I get some responses. Ok here we go, a few days ago my ex phone and said he would come and visit on saturday [ I felt very uneasy about that] we are still friendly and talk on the phone quite often[ he calls me I never call him] any way here he was at the door and I greeted him nice and polite[ as I always Am]we sat down and made polite conversation, but I felt frustrated listening to his conversation which I was not interested at all I just kept saying/ yes/ hum/I now what you mean, and so on.I made a cup of tea for both of us and went to my basket where I keep some unfinished embrodery form years back and settle down to my task to work on this picture [which I had started years ago] and guess what! after a while I starting feeling relaxed, I was able to listen to him,my frustration was gone and I enjoyed my needle work. At the end of the afternoon I had almost finish my picture!So at the end of the day I did turn a bad situation [ and frustraiting one] into a positive outcome and I Am happy with that
