The Golden Compass and Religion  | |  Apparently the Catholic Church didn't like The Golden Compass, but I'm wondering why? I can understand them not liking things like Life of Brian or The Da Vinci Code, because they actually mention religion, one mocking it and the other saying what if this happened instead, but I've watched Golden Compass and can't see what the problem is.
So now it looks like the sequels aren't going to be made either, which is a shame because the film didn't properly end.
Can anyone tell me what any part of it had to do with religion?

I have see the movie The Golden Compass, 6 times. and it is a very good movie for young and old. The Churches will always have there 2 cents put in everything any one dose. if you like it, then good for you . we are all different. There was nothing bad in the move that was about God. These people need to get a live and enjoy what God has given up .

They question their authority, and their rights to think with their own minds. This is the basis for the religious groups not liking it. | |
