What is the difference between "Priority" and "Important"?

Important is very broad. Many things can be important to you like family, career, finances, health, friends, a home and so on so forth. The priority is where you narrow things down to what comes first. That's what it is to me.

I see your point...your answer makes a lot of sense:) If someone asked me, I'd answer 'Priority' is something in life that you really need to devote time and effort and get done eg. "graduate on time or school before play". 'Important' for me is something on a more abstract level, something emotionally involved that you also need to devote time and effort to eg "family, love". I hope it makes sense!:)

Priority means that you have to finish that duty, and importance
means that it is the important duty and you have the right time
to finish that work. So there is very clear that priority and
importance. But in generally I am used to have the two types
of jobs in my office one is priority and another one is important.
The priority means I have to finish that duty as early as possible,
ad important means that I need to finish that duty in the right time.
So it is very clear, that the main difference between the both words.

the word Priority means people and objects.
the word Important means Acting as if having power, autority,influence,high position.

priority and important, both word and meaning almost same value. but "priority" something that is also important and must be dealt with before other things. priority are an assessment of importance, which is not the same urgency, you can combine importance and urgency aspects when assessing priorities.

i think that the difference between important and priority depend on the person. prioritys are gennerally more buisness related and importances are more about pleasure. i agree that all priorities are in some way important. For example, playing a new video game may be very important to a kid but getting their homework done is the priority

It is obvious that there are many similarties between "Priority" and "Important", that makes it difficult to differentiate the two.

But if you spend some time discriminating them carefully, then you will find there are really some apparent differences between the two. For example, if you have lots of tasks to do, then both "Priority" and "Important" mean that you should try your best to finish something at first. But which one is the key? I think you should pay more attention to "Priority" instead of "Important". One "Important" thing doesn't mean it is a necessity.

A priority is something that is very important, and is on the "to do" list, as it matters more than most things. A top priority would be something that is so important that it is more important than not only most everthing else but even most of your priority.

Important means; of great significance or value, pressing; urgent and essential.

Relaxation is important, but sleeping is priority.Money is important, but financial independence is priority.Well,i could say that priority is something like veyr important os something very much essentail.Its like the breathing, the moment that stops, you die.Priority is something that is crucial at this point of time.Important things are there and they will be there, but they are not so crucil at this point of time.Like we see, job is priority, but salary is important.i hope you got the point being stressed here with exaamples.Thanks!

Welcome to mylot dear, for me many things in life are important but amongst them some are to be given priority, again only one falls under 'top' priority, it is my health and family members health lol.....
