Kirstie Alley is recently known for struggles with controlling here weight. She recently starred in a show called "Fat Actress" and appeared on the Oprah show to speak on issues dealing with her weight. At one point she was even a spokeswoman for Jenny Craig after she lost the weight on her program. Now at 58 years she is back at it again as she is about to start a new reality for A&E which will see a camara man come into her home and document her struggles to lost the 83 pounds she gained since 2007 and even more. Now this action have left many tongues wagging that she is trying to use her weight to try and revamp her almost non existent career and make a profit. Now do you think that she is exploitingher weight problems or are the Tv shows and producers exploiting her weight. And if she is exploiting her weight is this wrong after all dont we have to use what we have to get ahead ,I mean other actress and models exploit their good looks and wire thin frame for their benefit so why shouldnt she ?

Well you can say that she is trying to profit. If it's something she wants to do, I think that's entirely up to her. I dont see any issues with her profiting over her story because I think she can serve as a role model to women out there who struggle with their weight. As long as she isn't forced to do anything she doesn't want, it's fine. As for her acting career, people need money to survive. If she wants to get into acting again, I'm not adversely affected by it, so, it doesn't bother me. She's not hurting anyone in the process I think.

I think she's not exploiting nor being exploited. In fact, she's using this opportunity to lose weight and keep herself healthy. I think she's like a role model and will give motivation to other ladies out there whom are wanting to lose weight.

People like her. She's funny and extremely honest. If someone is willing to pay her to tell us about her struggles, then I guess it must be a profitable venture for them too. She is only exploited in the tabloids where they don't allow her to talk but rather hound her about her weight.

Kirstie Alley has a difficult weight problem and is making the commercial most of the situation. I suppose you can call it exploitation.

Hello my friend ronnyb Ji, I think everyone is free to find one's way to trade and make money. Some people are not for mere money, they might be for lost glory and come again in lime light publically. May God bless You and have great time.

Good thoughts. I know reality TV can be mindless but there are many women that struggle with weight issues. I for one like the fact that she can turn it into an industry. I don't think she is exploiting it. Rather it is more that there are thousands of women that go through the highs and lows of gaining and loosing weight and she's is making it real to people who watch. I'm not much of a TV watcher, but I would rather see a person open their life up to an actual problem that thousands of other people struggle with over seeing reality TV where it's just cheap entertainment. You know live those I Love Ney York shows or Rock of Love. Eww, that brought even brought mindless TV down a few pegs.

I think she wants to have help in why she keeps gaining weight. And she wants to give a voice to the other women who also had trouble losing weight and as soon as they went off their diet, like Jenny Craig, started to gain even though they were not eating sundaes and donuts. After a while, you being to think that "what is the use?" I suspect that she has metabolic syndrome or what is also known as pre diabetes and that part of her problem is not stuffing her face, but something missing in her diet. Once I started to take chromium, I started to lose. If Kirstie Alley does have metabolic syndrome or border line diabetes and could put a face on those who did not get that way by making pigs of themselves, so much the better.

I don't know what is going on but have decided she's just about a nutcase & needs to go on w/her life & accept what is going on & quit flaunting herself around being silly.
