Government Must Have More Money Than God  email this discussion to a friend?

For every animal of the forest is mine, and the cattle on a thousand hills (Psalm 50:10). God might own the cattle on a thousand hills but to some of you government must own the cattle on a million hills.
Money is a great regulator. I would like to have a F-350 and a fifth wheel travel trailer with double slide outs so I could go travel the whole country. Why do I not have my dreams, because I currently do not have the money for it. Hopefully with sound budget practice I will one day, probably when I retire, I will be able to go out and purchase these dreams. If I went out and purchase this items I would be drowning in debt, not exactly apart of my dream. Yet if I was government not only would I have a F-350 and a fifth wheel, but I would have one for ever day of the week, and they would be gold plated.
When a budget adds a trillion dollars to the debt, we are told no big deal, we must have it. When a stimulus almost adds a trillion dollars to the debt, we are told no big deal, we must have it. When a public option adds a trillion dollars to the debt, we are told no big deal we must have it. When a war adds a trillion dollars to the debt we are told no big deal, we must have it.
By the end of this year and maybe even by the end of this month the national debt will hit 12 trillion dollars, with or without the public option. The per citizen charge will be close to 40k.
I hate to break the news but Government does not have as must money as God, and at some time every one of us will have to come to this conclusion. If we do not start cutting spending instead of adding spend, the bohemiath we call the Federal government will die of a massive money heart attack.

What do we cut and what do we keep?

All federal employees should take a pay cut immediately along with their retirement funds being merged with social security. All fringe benefits should be eliminated for government workers.

This may seem insignificant, but the fact is that salaries are the single largest budget item. The budget can be balanced except that politicans fear the clout of the federal employee unions and don't want to tighten their own belts as they are federal employees, too. I'm not kidding or exagerating. The federal payroll and fringe benefits are the largest items in the budget. That's why it is never talked about.

RYBD has a good starting point. Any point really is a good point. Even just not adding would be a good starting point.

This is so obviously correct that I sometimes think our politicians must be delibrately trying to destroy the country's current form of government.

The only money that government has is the money it steals in the form of taxation.... and even then it does not belong to the government, but to the elitists in the Federal Reserve... who our government sold us into slavery to in 1913.

Further more, any money that the government or Federal Reserve prints is totally worthless, being not even worth the paper it is printed on.

The government has no money... it has much more debt than money, and the debt just keeps rising.

Government does not have any debt, we the taxpayers have all the debt.

Of the People, For the People, and By the People... We IS the government...
