Practicality or Faith? | | Catholics has a doctrine that does not support Artificial Contraception and it means that not following it is a Sin. I am Born Catholic but I think that doctrine has a purpose & everybody has a reason why they are against it. I am one of those against it because if we are only depending on the natural contraception it would end up getting an unplanned pregnancy. A sin for me is having to many children that you can only afford in feeding them but not in educating them. You cannot even have time for yourself because you are trying to be faithful to what your doctrine or religion says. Abortion is a sin but using Artificial contraception is not you are just trying to raise a good child & give him a good future that when they look back they can say that they have the best parents ever.

| | 2. Shebang (212) | 2 months ago | You see, i'd like to express my personal view of this issue, but i'd rather not for fear that I might stir the conflict and arguments.
I am also a Catholic like you happy--- born and raised Catholic. I also share the same sentiment with you but how I see this though is that the Church is doing it's very best to protect ITSELF. Because if it gives-in to the popular demand and if it makes itself "modern" then it could mean the death of the Church. ###

We live in an era where we have to be practical in order to survive. Our life is fast paced... if we slow down, we starve... therefore it is wise to educate ourselves with the newer means to get by. The church cannot dictate its members what they should and not do. God gave us the freedom to choose. If we feel in our hearts that it is necessary to use artificial contraception, then go for it. I personally don't find anything wrong with contraceptives...
