When there is power failure, what do you do to make waiting time worthwhile?

It seldom happens in my city but if it happend, i would like to read news on the cellphones to kill time.

Power outages are good for families to sometimes re-connect with each other. In today's hectic world we rely so heavily on electrical items. We haven't had a power interruption for months and months but that night we enjoyed sitting outside watching the stars and just chatting. Where I lived before, we had them often but that was really an inconvenience in winter with a small baby.

During power cuts I often wonder how they managed in the 'old days' without the things we so often take for granted.

To make my time worthwhile while waiting for the electricity to return, I read books and magazines because it will feed my mind with useful information.

If I'm bored I will play games that challenges my mind. I have a few games in my cellular phone. I can also draft an article so I can post it to my website later.

Well anything that makes you and your family happy will also make your time worthwhile.

Like in Philippines, in India also there is power cuts regularly. some times it will be a scheduled one and some times it will be unscheduled. We have emergency lights at home. This will light for two hours. so reading and writing can be done. As we know the timing of the scheduled one, we will plan or electricity related works (washing, mixing and grinding, ironing) before or after power cuts.Some people have invertor at home so they will not be much affected. In the time of power cuts we will do the writing or reading with the light of Emergency lights

when power failure happens many funny thing will happen here mostly we will play some games like singing dancing and hide and seek and chitchat candle light dinner if with loved ones then bit romantic kisses and hugs ...these thing really make us feel we don't want power supply till next day..

During power failures, I usually huddle with my brothers and sisters and tell stories to one another. We relive our childhood moments and do the things that we used to do before, like creating different shadow figures or tickling each other's toes. This usually makes the waiting time worthwhile because we are able to create precious moments with the people who are most important to us.

As you have knew that most of the time we have not power due to
power shortage in the country, so most of the business and also]
lots of communication would be disturbed by this power failure.
When the power is gone then we have to wait for the one to 5 hours
in order to have the power again, so we need to wait till to starts
our work because without power the computer would not run, so I am
normally using that time to go away and have the walk from outside.

Most of the time power failure is schuled,hence there is room for planning other activities.Always try to get connected with relatives,friends and neighbours.share our views on local or personal issues and help each other.One more thing WE DO DISCUSS on how to save power and some good suggestions are conveyed to concerned local authorities.

I have to admit, I find it a little funny, when I hear about people not knowing what to do during a power outage. I remember some years ago, we had a power outage that lasted several days. Many people that lived around us said that since they had no electricity they couldn't cook. Hmmm... Let's see you have a grill... What is that a non cooking surface? Or is it there to just look pretty. The other thing that bothered me was hearing them state that they had nothing to do. It was like they couldn't live with out the electricity at all as if they don't remember the things we did when we were kids like grabbing a book and reading, playing cards or board games, how about telling stories or just talking with each other.

It is amazing how our societies have changed in such a short amount of time.

Yes, I admit it can be an inconvenience in many ways, but we also need to look at the other side of the coin, how did we live before with out it? What did we do when we didn't have computers or video gaming machines?

when power outages,I often stay still to wait for the power to return.in fact,I often go to bad.
