Emily Osment (Disney)is going to be in our town this weekend and my 19 year old is going to see her. He wants to take my 10 year old. He is very responsible, goes to college and works a part time job. I trust him completely. But the concert is at a downtown club. 7pm on Friday night. Of course no alcohol will be sold where they are at, but right next door they are having draft beer and other nightly specials. And the downtown area turns into party atmosphere at night, especially on the weekends.
I just can't decide. I know my daughter would love love love to go and it is one of those rare opportunity's that don't come so much.
I was wondering what you guys think.

You didn't mention the exact area but it sounds like you know it fairly well and have some concerns. I would think that an event like that would be swarmed with 8-12 year old girls and their parents hoping to get a chance to see a Disney Channel "star." There will most likely be police on hand to control the large crowds so I doubt that you would need to worry about undesirables hanging about. For piece of mind, maybe tell your son that they have to leave by 8:30pm or 9:00pm regardless of whether the event is over. Taht way, you'll reduce the chances that somethign bad might happen.

thanks, that sounds good. The area is actually a nice downtown, riverfront, historical district. I might just ride out there and see how big the stage area actually is. I think I am one of very few mom's that think so much about this stuff. lol
