Same thing happened to me though we got ours later. It was loaded on to the plane leaving an hour after ours took off so we just waited at the airport for that plane to arrive. We were lucky too but heck what a waste of time

Thankfully this has never happened to me. But I don't travel by plane all that often, the last plane trip I took I just brought carryons because I did not want to pay a fee. The time before that my husband and I carried on because he did not want to have to wait at the baggage pick up. When ever I did have to check a bag I always made sure I had at least 2 days worth of clothing and my bathing suit with me.

Hello. I travel quite often to countries in different parts of the world, taking many different airlines too. I do enjoy flying on long flights, and changing planes on the way. It has happened a number of times where the baggage didn't show up at the destinations. But, every time, the airline made sure that I get it back, most of the times, the very bext day. They would deliver them to my hotel.

It has happened to me. Technically I didn't lose my luggage, the airline did. And, they didn't actually lose it, they put it on the wrong plane! lol. It's the worst feeling! I had just finished a 16 hour flight. Waiting at the baggage carousel watching all the luggage go around and never seeing my own. I went to the customer service desk, gave a description, phone number and address where I was staying. My flight arrived at 4pm. My luggage was found and put on another flight. The airline delivered it to me at nearly 3 in the morning! I was exhausted but so glad to have my pijamas to change into!

Yes on my very first trip on an airplane. I was traveling from Puerto Rico back to New York on American Airlines and I lost the brand new luggage and everything in it. Surprising I had put insurance on my luggage. I never got my luggage back all I got was a check for $400.00. Since that happened I have never checked my luggage again. I always do carry-on.

I've never had any of my luggage lost thankfully. I have known people that have had it lost - especially when there are layovers on their flights. Thankfully they were able to get the luggage back and they just picked it up at the airport whenever they were flying home since it was only part of it. I think they were telling me they got insurance or something on the luggage so therefore if they couldn't find it they would at least get the money for whatever was lost.
