Do you ever turn your anger back at yourself? How do you resolve that?

Sometimes when you have anger at a person you can't get mad at or a situation you have no control over its possible to turn that anger back at yourself like through stomach aches, headaches or even depression.
Does that happen to you? How and how do you solve that?

I have been angry at myself for a few things that i have said as well as what i have done.It takes along time for me to calm down.I also get angry even if the things that have been said or done are not my fault and i could have stopped some of the problem.

hi there, i have been often in the situation that you have depicted. and i know it is wrong, it is not a good way to express the anger, and it is harmful to my health. but in some situaitions, i can not turn my anger at somebody,so i have to torture myself, at least nobody would know about it. most time i got a stomach when i am very angry.

valentinesdiner hi yes when my parents fought when I was in my teens I could not intervene really and felt helpless as it was mostly my dad's bullying that was at fault.I would get what my mom at that time called sick headaches. I would see colored lights around the lamp, and get horribly nauseated and my head felt like it would split open. later I found out those headaches were migraines. but when I moved out on my own I never ever had another one of that kind of headache. mild headaches but not that mind blowing sick headache where you think you are going to die, then wish maybe you could. So now if I get uptight I willget stomach cramps, IBS so I must keep from being stressed then no cramps. I build a bubble in my mind around me and tell myself the stress cannot get in and I am fine. this helps keep my glucose level on an even keel.I am a diabetic and stress shoots up your blood sugar level.
