I was wondering if this was a joke or not, and found that it was not. I was reading the book Warped Passages Unraveling the Mysteries of the Universe's Hidden Dimenisions and got to Chapter Four where it mentioned that there were lyrics to this classic song that was not in the movie (Casablanca).
The movie was released in 1942, and the song was written in 1931. And the missing "preface" of the song changed my understanding of what the writer was trying to say.
Before the more commonly known "You must remember this, / A kiss is but a kiss. / A sigh is just a sigh ..."
Many songs from the 30's have what I call a "preface," an introduction of sorts to the main song, and here is the one for this song:

This day and age we're living in
Gives cause for apprehension
With speed and new invention
And things like fourth dimension.
Yet we get a trifle weary
?With Mr. Einstein's theory.
?So we must get down to earth at times ?
Relax relieve the tension
And no matter what the progress ?
Or what may yet be proved
?The simple facts of life are such
?They cannot be removed.

For me, that puts the song in a different light. I only regret I didn't learn this history earlier.
