I do not know how people have ice cream in a cold and chilly day.Its easy and delightful to have ice cream in hot days and that's normal too, right. The habit of always having an ice cream is somewhat one can't ignore to the fact that its a winter or summer.
Any special occasion is so demanding to have any delicious and well worth everyone's taste, what's your take on this.

I am not a great lover of ice cream, so my take on this is a bit different. I can easily pass on ice cream and in fact in our hot, humid summers, I'd prefer a glass of icy cold water. Now, having said that, the only times I have really WANTED an ice cream have been when I've been away and in really cold places - Christmas time in England, while it was snowing - in Switzerland in the winter and in New Zealand in the winter.

For thirst as you said one would surely go for a chilled nice glass of water. But when the thought of a sweet delicious icy cream come to your mind anyone would surely have a go.Well when you wanted it did you get it.In the places at winter you mention, were they available or were people still demanding like you.
And Hi thea09,don't you have the thought of licking the ice crams tops as many of us do!

I am one of those people who love to eat ice cream even on cold days. Here in our place we have a snack called the Halo-Halo, made of different fruits, with letche flan, packed all in crushed ice then poured with evaporated mild and an ice cream on top. I love to it that snack even on cold season, not just me but also my dad. But the rest of the family do not like to eat those on cold days.

You and are your dad as you say are like one of my earlier friends,he used to drink cold chilled drink on a rainy day I suppose, when we asked him how could you drink that then he would say "its a different experience".I also thus tried an ice cream on a chilly day and well felt my tongue stuck to the spoon.
Whats the cost of the Halo-Halo and how much do you get,the quantity!
In our place there special ice and drink feats created new, every week and that's a kind of an attraction ,never mind a sunny or a cold day, people would give it a go.

Hi tintukm, what an original and amusing discussion about eating ice cream in the winter time. This is really not a good idea to follow as many people tend to drink a lot of hot tea in the winter time and the combinaion of eating ice cream and then drinking hot tea which one would probably need to take in order to warm up after eating the cold ice cream can produce I believe it is gall stones. So it is not to be recommended to eat ice cream in the winter time in case you drink tea. It could actually be kidney stones but it does produce some kind of unpleasant stone growth within the body.

I have of course tried but as you too say its not that kind of idea to have them irrespective of the season. The situation one is in also determines the need I guess, because a thirst is fulfilled by an drink and the desire to have an ice cream by ice cream itself, right.
I didn't say I like having ice creams in winter, just asking if anyone did so!
