Have you ever dated someone with children?

I am currently in a relationship with a single father. He has kids but they stay with their mother. He only sees them on weekends. My rule is simple. If they don't like me it's ok. I am not really here to please them or force them to like me. I am here to be in a relationship. I don't try to reach out to them as that seems awkward. I have nothing against them though. Dating a single father means that sometimes you become the second priority. Children comes first. That is ok with me. I don't want them to feel that I am competing with them for their father's attention. I am not really good in dealing with children so I don't try. If they don't like me so be it, I will continue to live my life the way I want it.
