Have you ever red the book of the lord of the ring?

Hi there, i read the original Tolkien's book about 4 years ago when i was 16, i like it a lot, i would like to read it another time. I whatched the movies too, they are beautiful, sure some parts af the book don't appear in the film but they're only part of less importance. And you? have you ever read the lord of the rings? did you read it before or after the creation of the famous movies by peter jackson?

My daughter is reading it for the third time. She says it is very good. I think after she finishes, I will read it. After reading this discussion, I feel like reading it soon. Thanks for the discussion.

Hi,
I just read the book of the lord of the ring after the movie trilogy on television.
The story is amazing.

I read the entire trilogy when I was in my teens back in the late 60's and absolutely loved them! There were no computers back then and the library had a card catalog. Imagine my delight when I discovered that there was an introduction to the whole trilogy called "The Silmarillion"! Those books were wonderful. I have only seen bits and pieces of the movies and I don't care to see them. The movie that the books played in my head was much better!
