I have a question I would really like the answer to. I understand people have favorite sports team. But for example if your team happens to lose what could you have done to control it? I have a friend that goes crazy for the rest of the day if his team loses. He yells and screams and starts calling people bad luck. If you weren't in the room and then you come in the room it was that persons fault and I think it is ridiculous.
I have a favorite team but I am also a realist. If I know my team is playing against a team that is better of course I will be upset they lost but I will not throw a fit. What is you opinion of this?

I have been guilty of feeling crappy the rest of the night, if my team lost. I have also been guilty of screaming once or twice, about something unrelated that just ticked me off, if it were a big game like a playoff. I would feel miserable that I wouldn't watch the late night sports cast or I wouldn't listen to the early morning sport talk on radio on my way to work. But that's about it.
Usually later in the day, the following day I would again be optimistic because there should be a game coming up in a day or two.
Did I mention I follow hockey?

I can understanding feeling crappy but taking it out on everyone is not the right thing to do. I totally understand when it is a playoff game it is more serious but yelling at others is taking it too far. No one could have done anything to change the play that was done or anything..

I threw a sock at the tv once when they said a goal wasn't a goal. And I shut the tv off last year so I didn't have to see "you know who" lift the cup. I have been known to try and force family members into wearing clothing they might not have chosen. And once after many interruptions of my game, I told my 7 year old nephew that unless he was wearing a jersey and carrying a stick I had better not see him in front of the screen again..in hind sight..that was mean! But it never sticks with me for the whole day, almost never, I still haven't actually watched a clip of Him skating with our cup..and I put a band-aid over hudlers face on my calendar after he defected.
In my experience the worst and meanest fans are the ones you encounter at a high school sporting event..Us die-hards realize it's all in the heat of the moment and part of the game. And then it's over until the next one.

Your friend or whoever else might have some issues going on that have nothing to with the game or a team losing. My opinion? They need to seek counseling and get to the bottom of the real issue.
