well, today in my usual rush to multi task i was eating lunch while here on mylot and i got egg salad on my poor key board. last week at work, my co-worker had left a glass full of water on the desk we share and i knocked it over onto my keyboard. what is the most unusual thing you have spilled on your keyboard? did you have to replace the board? with the egg salad, no, but with the water, we got another one given to us (a coworker had another one laying around).

hi, Sorry to know about your keyboard. I generally take lot of precautions as i am disaster master..haaaa. i never drink anything while doing on PC unless its urgent. Previously somedays back i once spilled some hot tea on my keyboard but the poor thing withstand somehow. After the incident i cleaned the keyboard by opening its fully that is by removing its screws and button. After that accident i am now try to avoid such incidents again. If it happens to laptop keyboard i think you have to replace the whole thing...oh you are lucky.

Hello cher. I am sorry for your keyboard to get spilled with some liquid stuff. lol. I am lucky not to have such a case though sometimes I get something solid on it, but it is small stuff from the food I take. Now with this new laptop, I have got a nice cover for the keyboard to protect it from being spilled with anything and the dust from getting into the keyboard. Take care, friend.

I'm a bit of a cluts so i have a wide variety of thing falling to my keyboard as well. It range from coffee to almost all kinds of drinks. And cookie crumble among other small things which could fit in between the spaces of my dear keyboard. But thankfully i haven't change my keyboard yet. Because i know how to fix it some how that even i have spilled some drinks over it i can still make it work.

Thankfully, I've never had anything spilled onto my keyboard, whether food or drink. I keep food and drinks in a separate table from where my keyboard is so I don't spill anything on.

I have spilled water on my keyboard. Waited for it to dryout but it never happened. Had to replace it. It was old anyway so I wasn't exactly heartbroken. Just hated the inconvenience of going to a computer store to buy another one. No discount stores around our house or computer stores for that matter either. Bought one of those fancy, dancy curved keyboards and never really liked it. Wasn't long until many of the letters wore off. Good thing I know the keys and don't have to look to type. I am guilty of keeping a soda next to the keyboard also but so far have been lucky enough not to spill.

Hmm, I am not sure. I know there was one time I was given a keyboard to play with just because I liked to type, it wasn't connected to a computer. I was bored, and well I think it was some sort of an experiment, but I glued the keys to the keyboard basically. Hmm, As for accidents, like I said I can't think of any.

well somone spilled pop on it before and do you know it makes a differance of what kind of pop? yep some ask if it is coke or pepsi? or what? Of course I asked why and they say one is stronger and can cause more damage. damage is damage but guess it just an interesting queston..they say coke is stronger and causes more damage to any keyboard especially registers and gas consoles, I use to run a store and all 3 had pop on it one time or another. keyboards get so sticky, if lucky you can pop off the keys and clean it if it is done right away and not let it set to long..

water. my keyboard is actually working quite well right now. but sometimes there's a couple things on it that don't work well. and then i have to really take my time and punch things out! lol. at least i don't have any mandatory work i need to do. just fun things. i'm glad you got another keyboard that works! that was probably necessary.

Keyboards are pretty durable. No real need to replace them unless you get something sticky in there that causes the keys to hang up. I have had water in my keyboard at home and no problems with it working but the soda was a different story. I am always blowing crumbs out of the keyboard where my kids have eaten something while working on the computers. If you take time to blow out you keyboard it should last quite a while.
