Hell yeah I do! To be honest, I don't travel much until today. Even I haven't gone to Bali during 22 years of my life, while it is one of the most favorite beach tourism in the world and just 2 hours away from jakarta, my hometown. But I went to London, Edinburgh, and Paris last year. I went to Paris and Edinburgh backpacking, with only paying minimum costs for accomodation and travel with foot or by bus/train. In paris, I even initially didn't book any hotel yet, just got lucky to meet a friend who happened to be in the same situation with me.I travel by myself just wandering around the city, buying a map and figure out the way to go to tourist attraction by myself. Of course, sometimes it is hard to travel alone with low cost, no luxury, no expensive food, and no friend to talk with. But overall it was really fun and really exciting experience. In May, I plan to go to KL, Bangkok, Phuket, and Ho Chi Minh with also backpacking and until now, I still planning to go by myself.
So, are you enjoy travel backpacking?

Yes, I do enjoy being a backpacker. I once went to Bangkok, KL and Singapore with minimum budget. We calculated and searched cheap guest houses in the internet (especially for the backpacker ones) prior to our trip. Lucky us, we got a new guest house in Bangkok with a VERY cheap rate, so that we could spend more money on shopping :)). When we arrived at Singapore, we stayed at a friend's apartment, so again, we didnt' spend any cost. The great thing I enjoyed most about backpacking is this 'self-content' thing about getting cheaper price compare to other people, hehe..

I have never really done any backbacking at all. I used to go camping when I was in the boysconts and we carried are gear in a backpak. However we never went on any long hikes when our backbacks on, just only short walks to the campsites whith them strap to our backs. ohter than that I have never been on any long backbacking trips.

In my younger days I loved to go backpacking. I managed to go traveling with not very much money at all. I traveled by train, bus and ferry, although sometimes I went by air. I stayed in dorms in youth hostels and in backpacker hostels. I went around Europe by train with my tall backpack. I traveled around that world and backpacked in Australia. I think that backpacking gives people the chance to travel with a low budget. Many days can be spent away so that makes it wonderful.
1993 to 1994
Around the world. I backpacked from England to Australia visiting the USA, Fiji, Indonesia, Singapore and Malaysia.
2001 to 2002
Backpacking trip to New Zealand. I backpacked from England to French Polynesia, the Cook Islands and Samoa.

I went backpacking when I was a lot younger and I carried a backpack around Europe on a trip in the 1980's. But I don't think my back would handle carrying a backpack now.

No, and I don't think I ever would. I prefer to fly, drive, and or cruise if I can.
I like to plan my trips, by booking my hotels, and flights. When cruising on an ocean liner I enjoy being pampered, and taken care of. So, goo luck with your back packing, I'm call a cab.
