Banning Large Televisions in 2011  |

|  I was reading some news off of yahoo, and I came across something that seems to be crazy. In California they are enforcing strict regulations on the amount of power a television will be able to consume. Basically, the larger your television set is the more power you will be consuming. I don't understand why they are trying to do this. They say it will be even worst come 2013. I mean they say they are trying to save us money on our electric bill but that's our decision to make if we want to pay for our bill. I'm pretty sure people know that larger televisions use more energy. It's just stupid. What's your opinion on this?

| |  ha ha ha ha ha... they are gonna be regulating the size of the television now eh?
Well, the most energy efficient form of entertainment is still the book!
I wonder how are they going to enforce the regulation other than imposing a tax on larger television screens so high that retailers are not willing to bring them in.

| |  Well, I don't think the REASON why they want to ban large TVs is that they want us to save energy and money. That would be the INCENTIVE to get rid of large TVs. The REASON would be that Energy costs a LOT of money to MAKE and that wasting energy is bad for the environment.
That being said, if they want me to get rid of my big TV, they had better replace it with a more energy efficient one because I am not made of money and I am not going without TV. No thanks.

| |  The government is getting too personal. How we want to save on electricity is our decision to make. Besides if one uses smaller TV, it does not mean he/she will definitely save electricity. They can be wasting electricity on other electronic items.
