These sand cuts can cause pain. It happens mostly when you have your shoes off or when you have on open out shoes that exposes your toes and feet more. I have had this cut between my toe. It is on the last toe. I call it my pinky toe. Have you ever had one of these? You won't sometimes know that you have one until you feel the sting of the sand cut.

hi cream97 yes it was on the top of my foot and stung like crazy and I could not figure out what it came from till I' got home from the beach. I had walked out into the sand with my 'son and our friend Mike with my orthopedic shoes on and in spite of everything I must have got a good tablespoonful of sand in one shoe. I emptied out my shoe and realized that the sand had cut me right on top my foot.wow. it did hurt too. the skin between your toes is even more tender. I ran a sharp pen into the web between my thumb and forefinger and boy did that hurt. all the nurses aides heard me all over the first floor surgery ward. that was years ago when I was a young nurses aide. wow.

I dont think that has ever happened to me but I think that I can see how taht may happen .Many stones especially sand stones can develop shar edges due to wave action ,human action or even other stones bumping up against them and if you walk brefoot then it is quite easy for the stones to cut your feet especially when it get in the soft part of yor toes

I don't think I have ever had one of those. Believe me..I love to be barefoot in the summer. I also like wearing flip flops when it's warm outside too. I'll have to be careful not to get one though..they sound very uncomfortable.
