|  The Beatles, a great band, four lads from Liverpool who changed our lives in a snap. Made all girls screaming, crying and stalking. But do you know that they started a lot of firsts?? Let me be your guide to this small time travel. Let me start with the movie Let It Be is the first reality movie or show that showcases a band recording, arguing and jamming to have fun. According to facts about them, they are the first band to incorporate exotic musical instruments in their recordings. They are also the first in using feed backs in which you will hear in the beginning of their song "I Feel Fine" in which in the movie of the anthology, you will hear a quote from George Harrison "He figured out how to do it... we used to do it on stage then... in a way, he (referring to John Lennon) invented Jimi Hendrix" and also with John's idea, introduced backward tracking for the song Rain. They are also considered fathers of Music Television (MTV)which was then called "Promotional Films". They are also the first rock band to produce a full length animated movie. The first experimenters of Heavy Metal for the song Helter Skelter. The first band to make a hit for a song more than the radio limit of 3-4 minutes for Hey Jude that lasted 7 minutes and 15 seconds. As for Great Britain, they are the first band to be awarded with the nation's highest award "Members of the British Empire" (MBE).

| |  I like the Beatles. I like 'The Long And Winding Road.' I have a compilation of their songs on a couple of CD's that have the picture of an apple on them, I am unsure what it is called. But I think it is something that sold a lot recently. I only have a few of these CDs I think the others are misplaced. On it they talk, and do jams.
I don't know much about them. I think their music is great. What? Did you say he invented Jimi Hendrix, as in, they are the ones who influenced him? Now this may be partly true, but Jimi Hendrix is so unique that he would have had to get inspiration from other places as well. I love Jimi Hendrix even though I am not a die hard fan. I reserve that right for people who are really like that. But I love it. I love the images in his songs. I love everything. I think I like him more than the Beatles.

I am also a Jimi Hendrix fan for I am a guitar player too. I love Clapton also. Well let me straight things up. It is not me who said that John Lennon invented Jimi, it is George, second, George is not boasting that John really influenced Jimi or made Jimi, he is just referring to the first ever use of feed back as intro to a song. If you know the song I feel fine, you will hear a sweet sounding feed back at the beginning. Jimi is famous for feed backs, but John was the first. I don't mean to offend anyone here even you, it is just that the facts are all leading to what the discussion is all about. I would appreciate that you read this post again to understand clearly what is written.

Their genius idea i like the most is the rooftop concert, in Let It Be movie.
Rooftop concert, is it also one of 'the firsts'?

| |  I've just read a book (The Gospel According to Lennon by Alan Clayson) claiming The Beatles weren't the first band using feedback, apparently they borrowed it from watching The Yardbirds live - but were probably the first to actually use it on record.
They weren't the first band to make promotional films - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Music_video
but they were the first to release an album with the lyrics on the sleeve.
