Saying this phrase is a very powerful feeling to a person. Many people would not say it instantly while proposing love to their partner. "I care for you", "I like you a lot", I can't live without you", and "I accept you as you are" are some strong phases that associate with the words "I love you".
In your own thoughts and feelings, what you do think is the most closest words or group of words that can be closest to saying "I love you!?

..Hi Fulltank, The closest words to "I love you" to me would be "I like you". The reason I say that is because as I told one of my friends, if you like someone, you will usually like them for life. If you love someone or fall in love with someone, that love changes, and you move on to another love. Liking someone is just that, you like them or you don't. There is a sort of binding with like, more so permanent to me than the "love" thing in a lot of instances. Take care.

Hi, artistry. If "I like you" were the closest to "I love you", hmmm, I think I took things for granted in the past then, lol. "Liking" may not be of the same depth as "loving". Personally, I would say that you can like someone but you don't necessarily fall in love with him. Personally, too, it would be easier and quicker to say "I like you" even with the short period of acquaintance (between man and woman) than "I love you". It may be the someone likes the other because of the sweetness or the friendly way he deals with people or might be because of some good deeds he did, etc. I would have be having a slight doubt if he says "I love you" to me within minutes of knowing each other. For me, love takes time to develop.

..Hi moneymaking, My point was that you don't fall out of like with someone, I don't believe. You can fall out of love as many do, but we usually keep liking those we like. You are certainly correct, love takes time to develop, but it is fleeting. It is deep but it can be eroded, like is in a different category, not as tied to emotions as love therefore I feel easier to continue between two people. We can always agree to disagree. I'll still like you.
Take care.
Hope I got your name right.

The words closest to "I Love You" Is "I Care for YOU a lot" for you don't say it to all of your friends & acquaintances aside from your family. If you will say it to a certain person you really have to mean it unless everything is just a test.

The words, "I love you" are very strong words and should not be taken lightly and to be thrown around here and there like it's nothing. I would say the closest words to that are "I deeply care about you". There are a lot of passionate phrases that you can use.
