What makes a teacher love and admire one student out of the rest, I have seen students who are not intelligent but still are favourites of there teachers, is the way they talk or is it the intelligence they see or something else.
What according to you makes them teachers favourite.

It's been my experience that teachers like students who are motivated. Even if they're not the smartest, even if they don't get the best scores or do the work the best, they show an interest that the teacher has got to appreciate since he/she puts time and effort into the lessons.

I am not...or have I ever been...a teacher. So what I have to say is based on observation only.
If you could go back and look at the past of most successful people you would be amazed at how many were only average students.
So what makes the difference. Attitude and determination.
These become evident to a teacher and even though that child may struggle and may clearly not be the most intelligent you just know they will do well because they are engaged. They know what they want and they are willing to work hard for it.
What a teacher tends to find in any given student that is so appealing is that it is clear that child wants to learn and they are paying very close attention to you so they can learn. That, above all, is what made them want to be teachers in the first place. It is so exciting for them to see a students face light up when they finally get it.
While it may not be easy for that student they are doing their very best. When someone does that it is clear they will do well because they want to and are willing to work hard for it. This will pay huge dividends later in life.
