I think it is terrible that they would cancel your appointment without any explaination. I wish there was someone you could talk to in order to get this resolved. I know the VA tried to do this to my husband and he fought with them to keep it. What we did was tell the nurse that his boss was relucant to give him the day off for this appointment. I wonder if you use this approach if this would work.

I think that would tell me that these supposed professionals are not and that I should go else where. It reminds me of comics on television talking about their doctors out playing golf and not in the office. Makes a person wonder why they are cancelling appointments. I would find another place and complain. Writing them a very serious letter and to their higher ups and even see about the AMA. This is a hospital for heaven's sake.

I have to be honest I have not had that Problem with my Hospital appointments, they rang me once and cancelled but made me a new one the next Day
This does not sound right at all, specially if you now have to wait for a new Appointment now, how long with that take

I don't think it's right when offices do that. People need to stick by their word. Afterall, we cleared our schedules for the appointment, the least they could do is hold up their end of the bargain. If that kind of thing were to happen to me, all kinds of $h!t would hit the fan.

we should be able to charge them for that..seriously.
i know they wouldn't think twice about doing it to us if we caused them an inconvenience.

I dislike when people do this to me too. I had an appointment last week. Here I am calling to inform the Registered Nurse that I was going to be running a little late, and come to find out she is not even there. Something came up, so all of her appointments that she had with other clients that day were all cancelled too. This has made the 3rd time, that she has not been available for her sessions with parents. That means if a person has an appointment with her they will show up to find out that she is not there for that day.. They are going to have to start calling clients and informing them that she is not going to be present.. They just don't call, they just wait for us to show up to the appointment and then to have us turn back around. That is not fair at all. If that was us not showing up to our appointment and not calling, we would be in hot water. So why can't she too?? I dislike when people cancel my appointments, especially if I have been waiting a very long time for it.
I am very sorry that this has happened to you jugsjugs. Don't feel bad it has happened to me and to others . And many people are getting fed up with stuff like this!

Is there a reason this happens? Do they overbook, or lose their staffing? I had an appointment set up for last week for one of the people I take care of and it was canceled because there was a fire in the building and it damaged some equipment.

That is a shame! In the UK you have the government in control of your health care and they can do what they please. I remember what it was like when I still lived in Scotland and I am very upset that the USA is now trying to do the same thing.

It's really that they had to cancel your appointment. Did they state the reason for the cancellation? I think they owe it to you to explain why they canceled your appointment. I suggest you call the hospital to ask them why. Make it known to them that you are irritated by the cancellation. Don't just take it sitting down. Demand for an explanation. If it is a legitimate then accept it. But, you should know the reason behind the cancellation.
