Welcome to limbo!

I just got my 38th friend request that's just going to sit in limbo. I checked their profile & they have lots & lots of friends , little other activity & nothing that would seem all that interesting. Why would I bother adding you if we have absolutely nothing in common? I'm not here to collect friends! I'm also not going to deny you just so you can re-request a dozen more times so welcome to limbo. Do you accept every friend request, deny them or leave them in limbo? How many have you got hovering there now?

I had a 23rd soul join my merry band of misfits in the land of myLot limbo just the other day.

Only 23???? The great Sconi only has 23 in Limbo!!!! Heck I got my 39th even after posting this. Obviously they didn't actually look at my participation lately or they'd have seen this discussion. So how are you avoiding getting noticed by the spammers ( which most of my detainees are )?

Well, I haven't been posting a lot for a while now........I just lurk in the shadows so I probably go unnoticed.

I'd noticed your absence. The number of amusing discussions had dropped off a lot.

I leave low number people for a while lingering, but I will either add or, more likely, deny them after a while.

Unfortunately the actions of some of them have caused me to take my method. If there weren't any that would spam me with "Check out my other pay site!" emails & such & then resubmit the friend request as soon as I delete or deny them from my friends list I wouldn't bother leaving anyone in limbo.

Now that's an interesting thought.

I honestly can deny them as fast as they can request me - and if I really got fed up, I'd follow them to a discussion and report them for harassing me by repeated friend requests.

I have a lot in limbo. Until I am sure that they do not want to send spam about their earning sites then I leave them hanging. I would rather do that than reject their request and then they send it again. Need some clothes pegs for yours too? I can spare a few

Oh yea. If I check out a profile & they've got nothing but links to all their other earning sites they get a first class ticket to limbo, Do not pass go, Do not collect 200 dollars ( or any other amount for that matter ).

There was only 1 that I denied so far. I accept them and see what they all about and if I don't like the I just delete them later, which I've done quite often.

So far you've been lucky enough to avoid the curse of the resubmittters. Good luck.

Ha, it looks like I've stumbled upon the right discussion! I have 51 in "limbo", as you call it, right now! It's not that I don't appreciate that people are adding me, but it's such an easy thing to put off. But it definitely is time-consuming, sitting there and weeding out the likely spammers from the actual people I wouldn't mind adding to my MyLot friends list. LOL. I usually let them pile up for a while, and then one day when I'm REALLY motivated, I go through them. I just don't like accepting every friend request I get without thinking it through or looking through some of their discussions and their profile - because I'll get a million and ten spam/referral messages in my inbox if I just add people blindly. This stuff takes some thinking! lol!

I weed mine out pretty regularly. There's just 39 that are going to STAY in limbo.

If I get a friend request like that I deny them. I see no sense at all in leaving someone in limbo. I also see no sense at all in coming in and seeing 20 friend requests. So to me it's best to either accept or deny. I haven't got a single one in Limbo right now. I didn't when I had my old account either. To me there is no sense at all in leaving people hanging.

I've had several that seem to like collecting friends. Once I deny them they just send another request, again & again. No matter how many times I deny them they just send another. If I leave their requests in limbo they can't resend them. Plus I go back & re review the profiles every so often to rejudge if anyone is worthy. Sometimes one of them will actually get accepted later on.

Cute avatar BTW & got huskies as an interest I see. Already well on your way to getting a friends request from me ( hopefully you won't leave me in limbo if I do submit one ). Only been here 3 days though so I'll check in later...

Limbo refers to a state of being stuck, going nowhere, unable to proceed to the next dimension ( in this case referring to actually making it to my friends list ). When people submit me a friends request I review their profile. If I deem them not worthy of accepting I simply ignore the request. It prevents them from being able to either spam me ( if I'd accepted them to my friends list ) with referrals to their other sites or resubmitting the friends request ( if I'd denied them ).
