Great award for Lionel Messi

Hi soccer fans, In the past year, Lionel Messi had made great success in Barcelona Club. He had made great contribution to the Barcelona Triple Crown Dominance, the unprecedented honor in Spanish League. And now, one of two most important award Golden Globes from Frabce Football Magzine had given to Messi. And in my opinion, the other award, the FIFA World Footballer of 2009 is also blong to Messi. Congratuation to Messi.

Messi is definitely one of the most gifted footballers around. His performance for Barcelona have been top drawer. But his performances for Argentina have not been so good. That is one blot on his resume. But given his performance last year, I do think he deserves the World Footballer of the year award. Cheers! Ram

Hi ram_cv, agree with your opinion that his performances for Argentina was not good enough, which is the little blame on him from the critics. Additionally, i also believe that he will be awarded with the World Footballer of 2009. Cheers!

Yeah he totally deserve it. He is playing at a great level in Barcelona. I have heard that in Argentina people isnt happy with his game on the national team. But i dont think messi is the one to blame there, he is one hell of a player but he isnt superman and he cant do all. Anyway, i think messi deserve of all the praises he is recieving and hope he mantains that level.

Hi edxcast, Yes, in the past year, he had done great and he deserve any awards. As to the non-excellcant performance in Argentina, i think it has reason to explain that. In Barcelon, what need him do is just complishing the key shoot or assist. In contrast, in Argentina, his colleagues need him do more than the key shoot or assist, such as middlefielder control. Just like you, he is a player, not the superman. Besides, football game is interity sport, no man can every thing at one match.

The number of votes, far more than what the second place got, are one more proof that Messi is uncontested as the best player of the year. The trophies won with Barcelona, and more than that, his determinant role in achieving such performance by the club make him the best player. However, by the same arguments is Cristiano Ronaldo the best in 2008. He did won the Champions League and Premiership with Man Utd and he also had great part in winning these trophies... I think Xavi is also a very good player, but he doesn't stand out that much, he's more of a team player...

i think it`s Messi year. no doubt that now Messi`s year.if award is not for Messi, i think it can be questionedable why did not Messi get the awards.In my mind, Messi deserve to this award. Long Live for Messi

yeah congrats to one of the hottest and most happening football in the world. He has raised his level of game so much and has done so much for Barcelona that he definitely deserves those awards. I guess this is the starting for messi as still more awards are yet to fall under his feet. He definitely is the key factor for Barcelona to win the triplet and truly deserves the award.
