| Sunday in the UK is best for me because of the "Sunday Roast" we usualy make roast mostly chicken and the last two weeks it was pork, I really like it when its cook very yummy and ohhh the smils is awsome...plus the potato in it is so tasty...you guys what is the best meat you want to be roasted? | | | | | |

| | I like bottom round roast cooked in the slow cooker. I put carrots and potatoes on the bottom and dry onion soup mix on top and about a quarter to half cup of water in the pot and let it cook. I'm not sure if it's called the same thing in the UK or not. There is usually a layer of sinewy fat on one side that I try to thin out as much as possible before cooking. The meat can be seared in a pan first on all sides to enhance both the flavor and the color of the gravy, but isn't necessary in the slow cooker. When everything is cooked, remove the meat and the vegetables (use a slotted spoon to keep the juices in the pot), add a bit more water to the pot and then make a slurry of flour and water (so that it looks like heavy cream) and pour this in the now hot gravy broth for thickening. You can also use cornstarch, but I personally prefer flour. Season to taste. You can also just cook the meat alone using the same method, but cook it until it falls apart. Then shred the meat into the broth (add more water if necessary) and serve on good sandwich rolls. Or, add BBQ sauce instead of water for pulled BBQ beef sandwiches. I like the bottom round because it's very lean (other than that one layer of fatty tissue), so you get more meat for your money. Slow cooking makes it as tender as almost any other cut of meat. | | | | | | |
