| Holiday Music  | | | |  A few days ago I was walking around the grocery store with my two toddlers and I felt this ridiculous headache coming on--ah, the joys of motherhood. As I was moving through the store, dropping things into my cart for purchase, I noticed the song "Walking In A Winter Wonderland" droning over the PA system, and rolled my eyes. By the time I had went from the bakery to the frozen section, up and down each aisle, I noticed something very, VERY disturbing.
They played the SAME SONG TWICE.
By DIFFERENT ARTISTS.
Come on, marketing companies--ARE YOU SERIOUS?!
THIS is why people grow to hate this season, even though it should be joyous. It's sad.

Hearing the same songs over and over again, year after year is one of the reasons why I used to hate shopping at Christmas too.
It's not just the repetition I hate. I live in the tropics, but supermarkets and shopping centres play "Christmas songs" about snow and winter and snowmen. I've never seen snow, nor do I want to see snow in the middle of the tropics. That would be a nightmare!

| | Indeed! I can only imagine. I used to live in NC, where we only got snow once in a few years and people would FREAK out if they ended up driving in it. And on Christmas, rather than snow...we'd have rain. Cold, dreary, grody rain.
