Have you ever dated a customer?

I found myself in a really weird position the other day at work. A regular customer, at the dry cleaners, who seems to be a bit older than me, although reasonably smart, witty, and attractive...Seriously hits on me at work. Every time he's in. And I usually do it back. I don't know if it's because I actually mean it, or just because it's the "polite" thing to do as an employee (whereas I'd probably reject a person flat on their face in real life - just because my "IRL" personality is just LIKE that). He actually went a little further this time and "jokingly" made a comment about going out for a drink sometime (He thinks I'm over 21. I don't know how he got that impression or if it's just something he assumed). I was a little taken aback, but I laughed and played it off and said "Yeah, maybe sometime." Anyway, I'm a little dizzy about the borders between "work" and "personal life" and when to criss-cross them. Not to mention that, but there are also a lot of OTHER factors to think about it in these kinds of scenarios. I don't think it would be worth it. Have you ever dated a customer? And what the heck was that like?! And how did it come about?!

hi maezee!!! yup, happened to me before when i was working at one of the music retail shops here in manila. i had this regular customer, she works for one of the music channels in manila and we hit it off good the first time we met. we had the same taste in music and it just so happened that one of our favorite bands was having a concert. the music store that i was workign for and the music channel that she was workign for were both sponsors in the said concert. she said that we can definitely hook up durign the concert and perhaps go someplace else after the concert. i was cool with it so i said yes. come the day of the concert, we met up backstage and we had a great time. after the concert, we went out ot a bar and got smashed. we ended up in my place and spent the evening there. after that first 'date', we went out a couple of times fro the next six months or so and we drifted apart when she had totransfer to a different country because of her new work. whenever she visits manila, she makes it a point to call me and we go out. it worked out well but i think it just wasn't emant to be. it's all cool though. up to now, she still keeps in touch through email. cheers!!!

isn't that the concept? one way to pick someone up, least you sort of know him. but go with your gut instinct, on it.
