If you were a deployed soldier, what kind of books would you want to be sent?

What kind of books do you think 2 soldiers (one male, one female) would like to receive in the mail - and be able to read in their spare time? Obviously, it depends largely on their interests, but I honestly can't really get a hold of them either way between now and when I'd like to send the books out. What are some "safe bets" as far as books to send out? Should I send out best-sellers, which the majority of people like? What are some titles that EVERYONE likes? (Or most everyone) - and that I can't go wrong with? Besides "The Da Vinci Code" (as I already sent that one out.. lol.) Any ideas would be fantastic!

I gave a lot of my books to a drive for soldiers. They actually happened to be about spirituality. Wicca, and other things. I figure, not everybody is Christian. Somebody will appreciate them. I read an article actually about soldiers who were practicing Paganism of some kind. It was in a magazine. So I know there's lots of different preferences probably. Best Seller books couldn't hurt.

That's what I'd be worried about. My two soldiers are from the US, but as we know, not everyone in the US is Christian and while sending spiritual text might be a good idea.. It's so hard knowing what religion they are or if they even are religious to begin with!

If I am a deployed soldier, I would be most interested that someone who loves me would send me a bible - Authorized Version 1611. When I have those books, I would read how the soldiers of Israel discomfited their enemies and took all those spoils of war. I would be interested in learning how they won the battle, their strategies, their mistakes, their principles of war, and how they got the help from God that led them to win battle after battle.
