OMG! Let me tell you that I am so sick of how stupid people can be! I went to my storage facility today and because I was late in paying my monthly bill so they cut my padlock and I had to buy a new one. I showed up with my new padlock in hand and I had already paid online before I arrived. When I got there a woman was already there. The employee there told me that she had to help the other person who was already there. She said she had already taken 7 people before us so she had to help this lady. Well we showed up 20 minutes before they closed and we waited over 30 minutes for this dumb bimbo to sign up for her storage unit. A
All the employee had to do with us was walk upstairs and unlock her padlock. It would have taken her 5 minutes tops. Unbelievable! She said she did not want to lose a new customer. Then since it is December 4th and I have not paid for this month she was hinting that we would still not be able to access the unit. What a load of crap!
Anyway it has been 45 minutes so far and the idiots are still complaining over the sign up process.
Wish me luck!
Have a nice day and happy myLotting!!!

I had been a Public Storage customer for 9 years until a few weeks ago, and in that time my monthly rent went form about $100 to $193. Not once was I ever late on a payment and despite being a loyal customer not once did I ever receive any kind of loyalty bonus e.g. a month free but nothing. As I ended my rental during the month I owed about $83 for the final period. I contacted PS by phone (left a message), contacted them via their website asking them to forgive the $83 since I had been such a good customer. No one from their company ever responded. Instead, today I got a collection notice for the $83. Well screw them, I am going to fight it, plus let anyone I can find and tell them that PS sucks.

Sometimes it becomes very irritating when you come across such unreasonable people. Population of such people are growing multifold. These are the products of corrupt society. Wish you all the best.

"People have brains, but they still choose to be stupid." That's one of my favorite quotes from a famous local author. It fits the situation in this case I think. Though, I do hope that you were able to get to your storage unit by now.

I work for Public Storage. There's a very simple explanation as to why she did not help you before the lady that was already there...
The lady was there FIRST!
It is first come, first serve. I highly doubt she interrupted helping this lady seven times, but if she did, it was probably for things such as payments which can be done quickly.
For you, she would have had to leave the office, which means she would have had to send the lady she was helping outside and lock the door because you cannot leave people in the office when an employee is not present. Then she risks losing the customer, which to us is a big deal because we are given bonuses based on our move-ins.
Here are two pieces of advice to avoid this sort of thing:
1: Don't show up 20 minutes before they close. There are things we have to do, particularly with the money, before we close. We don't just simply lock the door and leave. So try to get there at a reasonable time.
2: Pay your bill on time. That's the simplest way to avoid having your lock cut. Or if that is impossible, don't ignore the numerous times they call you throughout the month. COMMUNICATE with them and something can be worked out.
I'm sorry to say it but it appears you are being a bit childish; you expected to walk in and be helped immediately, whether there were customers before you or not. It doesn't work that way. You are just one of hundreds of people who rent and pay their bill at that particular storage facility, neither of which justifies special treatment towards you.
Next time show up when it is not so busy, which is usually late morning before lunch and early to mid afternoon after lunch. But if you insist on showing up when everyone else feels like showing you, you should expect to wait.
