Can the Los Angeles Lakers win another championship this year? |
| |
| The Lakers are the number one team in the NBA this season with a 13-3 record in the month of November. The Lakers are 8-0 since Pau Gasol return from injury. Their all healthy. Andrew Bynum is playing like an All-star and could eventually be the starting Center of the Westen Conference in next year All-star game. Give me your best comments. | | | | | |

| | Considering the experience and the talent under their belt for the 2009-2010 season, the Los Angeles Lakers are groomed to have another title. Kobe Bryant is having another MVP type of season and the return of Pau Gasol have really proven that the Lakers is a very invincible team once they are complete. Bryant, Gasol, Andrew Bynum, Derek Fisher, and Lamar Odom are still with the team, players who wore the purple and gold jersey during the last two trips to the NBA Finals. Both Bryant and Fisher are all tested and proven playoffs and finals veterans who both won a total of 4 titles each with the Lakers. Another person to consider having a massive championship experience is their head coach Phil Jackson. Jackson by far have a total of 10 titles under his belt, 6 with the Chicago Bulls and 4 with the Lakers. With the experience that they have, the Lakers already have the advantage over other teams especially when it comes playoffs time. Speaking of talent, the Lakers made a big improvement by acquiring Ron Artest during the offseason in exchange for Trevor Ariza. Ariza had a great stint with the Lakers and even helped them win the 2009 title but Artest is a lot better than Ariza in a lot of ways. Artest's defensive reputation is way higher than Ariza and Artest is a better lockdown defender who can play opposing teams' stars one on one. Though known for his defense, Artest could also contribute offensively. Just during the 2009 playoffs, Artest carried much load for the Houston Rockets who played without Tracy McGrady and Yao Ming. Artest's numbers are expected to go down now that he'll play along with Bryant, Gasol, Bynum, and Odom but pretty sure his presence makes the Lakers are more solid contender for the 2010 title. So should the Lakers win another title this year? The odds are good. The teams poised to give the Lakers a good challenge and fight are the San Antonio Spurs (if they stay healthy), the Denver Nuggets, and Dallas Mavericks in the West and the defending Eastern Conference champions and last season's runner-up the Orlando Magic, long time rivals Boston Celtics, and the title hungry Cleveland Cavaliers. Percentage wise and considering that all teams stay healthy, I'd give the Lakers a 65% chance of winning the title this season. | | | | | | |

| | considering the amount of talent in the Lakers roster, i can say that they have a shot on the title since they play like winners.. kobe is having a good game after another since the return of gasol.. and i must agree with you that andrew bynum is now at his best season so far.. he plays like an allstar.. but i dont really consider him to start at the western conference allstar game.. lakers are definitely a team to be wrecking with.. and i think teams who face LA will have there work cut out for them.. | | | | | | |

| | The lakers have a big chance of getting to the nba finals and maybe win another championship. But of course, it depends on which team from the east will reach the finals. A lot of the teams from the east have improved their lines ups during the off season hoping it get them all the way to the nba finals. It would be an interesting nba finals match up if the celtics against the lakers. But you will never know with teams like orlando, cleveland and even atlanta might pull off a surprise. Meanwhile, in the west, the lakers just have to deal with the dallas, phoenix and maybe san antonio(?). But again, i feel the lakers has a strong chance to make it to the nba finals and we will see from there anyway its only december and a lot can still happen until then... | | | | | | |

| | i think it will be hard to beat the lakers in the playoffs as kobe is great in himself and he gots so much help from other team members at the same time. kobe doesn't have to carry his team anymore. it makes it a more complicated for teams that will face them in the playoffs. i would have to say in order to beat the lakers in a series the lakers would have to come into the playoffs without the hothand basicly meaning their rythem is lacking and i don't see it happening unless theres an injury to one of the lakers main players. also a team would have to have a little bit of luck to beat the lakers as well as kobe having a bad game and yes all players have had bad games no matter how great they were but its rare for people such as kobe. the lakers are most likely to repeat as champions as they have many odds in their favor. | | | | | | |
