What is your favorite book? |

| I read many books, and I am a slow reader. I love being a slow reader because I can process the story better and it lasts longer. My favorite books are Roll Of Thunder, Hear My Cry and Dragon Ball Z Series and The Holy Bible. My favorite book type to read are basically Manga Books (Japanese Format Comic Books.) What is your favorite book type? What are your favorite books? Do you read alot, or just every once in a while? | | | | | |

| | I favorite books have always been 1984 and Brave New World, though Leaving Eden is also one I could read time and time again. Generally I prefer to real non-fiction and how-to books. But a good story is a nice escape once and a while. | | | | | | |

| | This may be very cliché, yet my favourite book has to be Fight Club by Chuck Palahniuk. It is an absolutely thrilling read full of a plethora of different messages and ideologies. Now, I know this has been said way too many times, however, I could write several essays based on the messages and social commentaries found in this book, such as consumerism and Western society. I like Chuck Palahniuk as an author in general, though I will admit that some of his work can be for an "acquired taste," and that he certainly is no Shakespeare (despite what certain obsessed fans would have you believe). It's wonderful that you mention Roll of Thunder. I remember reading that for High School for a racism assignment, and I must say, I was pleasantly surprised at how much I enjoyed it, and found myself reading ahead of the class because of how compelling it was. It's a shame I could not say the same for every book I was forced to read in High School. At the moment, I am currently reading American Psycho by Bret Easton Ellis. It can get macabre at times, and the protagonist is very interesting to watch whilst he spirals further into his own madness. However, I must admit that it is one hell of a slog. Many parts just seem to drag on forever and forever without driving the story forward in any significant way. This particular book is certainly not suitable for novice readers, and does require an adequate threshold of patience. | | | | | | |

| | I see. Thanks for the quick reply. My teacher has also told me there is a sequel of the book Roll of Thunder, Hear My Cry. It starts right where the book left off at. There is actually a whole series that the author wrote. It goes up to where Cassie is an adult. I haven't read them, but I still keep trying to find the books. | | | |

| | Welcome to myLot. I am a fast and constant reader. I like Manga books, too and also to draw the figures. I have many How to Draw Manga books, but my favorite things to read are classic works of literature. It is impossible to have one favorite book, but I liked Don Quixote among other greats. | | | | | | |

| | Ayn Rand - Atlas Shrugged. Written in the 50's. Ayn Rand is considered to be the most prolific female author of the 20th century. Changed my life man. Her other book, The Fountainhead is huge too although Atlas Shrugged is her largest success. Both were made into major movies. I've had several friends that read it and speak as highly of it as I do. I cannot recommend it more. I read everyday before sleeping. i finish reading one book per week. | | | | | | |
