why do men always announce what they do around the house

my husband always has to point out "i did the dishes today" or "i did the laundry". and ask for a thanks or did you notice. i don't point out everything i do. it just needs to be done. it's still a thing about the woman being expected to do it so if he does it it should really be noticed that he did it to help me out. just annoys me how he has to point it out. i do appreciate it and would say thanks if given a chance but he calls me at work to tell me he is doing it. oh well at least he is helping out.

I read in some books, that men always have to be praised for what they do. Same like women often have to be loved and appreciated. Just because you're married doesn't mean you can take everything for granted. Your husband did it, because maybe he feels you are not aware of how hard he is trying to help you and to show his appreciation to you. You know, there are lots of men ( even your own children) who doesn't care to lift a finger to help us out. Be thankful you have a considerate husband. 2 sentences like "That's great honey, thanks." is not much, but is enough to make another human being ( your husband) happy for the day...

Because it really is a big deal that they are doing it! I usually start doing it after him so he sees how stupid it is! I just did the dishes, I just made dinner, I just cleaned the toilet....... My biggest pet peeve is when men say they have to "watch" their kids! grrr.
