Have you ever had to call 911 or emergency services in your area?

I have been lucky enough to never have to make this call. What about you? Have you had to call 911? I did call a non-emergency number a couple times. The first was when somebody hit my car and took off. The second was when my house was hit by lightening. I wanted to make sure there were no electrical problems.

I called a few times. Once there was an accident outside my apartment. I could hear the people on the street saying a woman was trapped under the car.
Actually there was an accident at that corner every day, but his was a very bad one. I called 911 and said there was an accident with serious injuries. That I could hear the people on the street saying that someone was pinned under the car.
The woman on the line kept asking me questions I couldn't' answer like was she alive, how old is she, her age, how did it happen etc. How would I know?
I told her what I could see from my apartment window and what the people in the street were saying. She acted as if I was stupid for not knowing from my apartment. I wasn't going to run downstairs and outside when I could be summoning help.
Another time I called 911 when I saw a plane crash. I heard the plane flying low and saw the fire ball shoot up about 10 stories high about a block or two from were I was. It was a miracle no one was hurt. He had engine trouble and brought the plane down on the only possible street for miles around. The fireball was when the pilot clipped a wall with the wing of the plane after making a very short landing without power.

Yeah, my family and I have.
This one happened when I was a kid. I remember this happened just after my birthday because my cousin was spending the night with me. That night, my parents had talked about going out of town but decided against it. Later that night, a boy from down the street was home alone with a friend of his. They were playing and his wrist was accidentally slashed with a butcher knife. We called 911 and the ambulance came and did their thing.

Yes, While at work I had to do it twice because my desk was the one closest to the factory door, if someone out in the factory got injured then someone would come out and yell at me to call 911. One of the calls was for someone having trouble breathing, the other one was when really young man out in the factory was allowed to work on a machine he was not trained to work on. It was a metal cutting machine, He literally chopped half of his arm off. It was aweful. It was so frightening and I was so scared for him I accidently dial 411 first. I was so mad at myself. Then I called 911 and thank goodness the ambulance was there very fast. The was not chance of re-attaching his arm, they ended up giving him a job in the office, he was the sweetest little guy he never let the fact that he only had one arm bother him. He is one of the people I miss from that job.
I also had to call 911 once because my son got his head stuck in a chair and I panicked. But you know that story.
I also had to call once because my husband and I both though we locked the front door and our youngest child walked right out the front door and we could not find him. Scariest moment of my life. But my husband found him while I was still on the line with the 911 operator. Thank God!!

Yes, One time my wife and I were in our car driving and we saw this guy on a motorcycle hut a curb and fly off the bike landing on his neck it was pretty bad, it was before everyone had a cell phone so we pulled in to the gas station that was right there and I called 911. I don't think the guy made it though if he did he was likely paralized. We also got flagged down by someone telling us their car was in a ditch and the other passenger was dying. We called 911 for them too.

yes...
i have called emergency services... not 911 to be specific
i usually am very cautious about calling to emergencies in case of accidents..
and also when there is a fire break or any immediate casualty..i make it a point to inform authorities..
its a part of playing the responsible citizen..
cheers
