I'm just wondering how many of you have seen a relatively new Meow Mix ad, of a woman in the kitchen chopping up food, and all of a sudden she hears the piano play. She goes into the living room and sees her cat sleeping on top of the piano..then goes back into the kitchen...the piano plays again...cat is nonchalantly cleaning himself. She starts humming the song, which is the Meow Mix song goes back into the kitchen where "magically" the cat is now in the kitchen next to the bag of Meow Mix. Well those of us that have cats, (or dogs) I don't think we have pets that would play a theme song of their favorite food on a piano, but I'm just betting your pet has another whimsical way of letting YOU know they want to eat...what is it? Do they for instance pat your face with their paw while your in bed indicating it's time for their Mom (or Dad) to get up and feed them? Here's the video of that ad: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7ecDyKRbSoM

Thanks Pye! Now I'm going to be humming that jingle all day...lol. It's one of those annoying, catchy tunes like the Oscar Mayer Weiner song. When my cat Dc was still with us, her favorite way of letting me know that it was breakfast time, was to put a cold, purring nose into my ear. Worked like a charm and, yes, her favorite food was Meow Mix. My chihuahua wakes me up in the morning by sitting next to my head and staring into my face. She doesn't touch me or anything, just the stare. And it works. Oh, she likes Meow Mix too, which is why we feed our two cats on the counter. How do you get notified that it's meal time?

Oh I wish I were an Oscar Meyer Weiner, then everyone would be in love with me Haven't heard that in a long while The only time my two kitties are insistent on being fed their breakfast by meowing is when I decide to sleep in..uh, like today...decided to sleep late but wound up getting up since the two were meowing a storm..so much for extra sleep My two cats don't eat Meow Mix...they only like the more expensive dry food...figures

My cat meows for food early AM...hard to miss her...my dogs are talking for food, not barking...it is sound between pig voice and human cough....and they stay in the kitchen just in case I would not understand the meaning... HUGS

Hi pola...glad to see you here Usually my two kitties don't bug me too much for their breakfast but did today as I decided to sleep in a bit...Pyewacket and Kissy who are normally rather quiet were meowing a storm...so had to get up to feed them...guess they didn't want their mom to get extra sleep

Hiya Pye...Domingo will patiently sit by his bowl and watch us intently when it's mealtime. If we ignore him, he will start moving his bowl around on the floor to get our attention. All three cats will just pester us with their meowing and tripping if their feeder is empty. Tigger now..he'll let you know loud and clear when he wants his treats and will even try to open the small veggie bin next to my computer to get to em.

Well you'll remember how I told the story at that "other" place how Pyewacket stole that last strip of bacon I was going to munch on and then later was sitting under the Christmas tree with a smug look on his face

That was just too dang funny what Pyewacket did. We just got home a bit ago and Tigger and Simba started a certain 'dance' they do when they really really really want some canned food. They don't do it often but tonight they started in and even started merowing earlier than norm. Wasn't long before Lil' Bear picked up on what they were doing and joined in. lol

Generally our cats will ignore me unless they want something to eat. Then all of the sudden they make themselves known to me in some way or another. Such as jumping on the couch with me and purring until I notice them. And, when I get up, for whatever reason they fallow me around and get under foot until I go into the kitchen where they sit in front of their food dish and meow until I've successfully fed them. Well, that's how two of them act. Our oldest and third will fallow me into the bedroom, and jump up on the bed then to his buffet table. (we keep the food off the floor to keep bugs and me from tripping over it); It is here where he will walk back and forth meowing and purring until food is presented for him to chose, (we let him pick what food he wants to eat). After he's chosen, then we or I should say George fills his bowl with the desired dish where he then attacks it. Cat's cute, but they do have unique ways of getting what they want from us.

LOL-sounds like your cats have you well-trained and they get what they want no matter what..funny how your one cat will actually "pick" the food he wants

Hi Pye Oh yes Gissi certainly does, by sniffing it, giving me a really nasty look and then turning his back on me and no matter how long I leave it there he will not touch it, he rather not eat lol So I give in and get his favourite one for him This goes for Chewies to he has certain ones that he likes and if I buy some that is not on his list he will not eat them

I love that commercial. I think it's cute and I think the cat is cute as well. My cat usually will follow me around the house. She doesn't usually meow unless I talk to her and ask her what the problem is. If I ask her to show me she'll end up running into her food bowl and staring at it until I get the point. Once I understand if I have to leave to get her more food then she runs after me until I can come back and give it to her. She's very persistent.

I have seen that Meow Mix commercial all the time too and I giggle everytime I see it because I think it is very cute. My cats don't paw at me when they want food, i just leave a big bowl of food for them, they do not over eat, so they can eat whenever they feel like and it just works well. But they do paw at me for attention. My one cat India will touch my arm with her paw if I am not looking at her, its like she is poking me with her paw saying "hey look at me! hey pet me!"

If we run out of food in the middle of the night, heaven forbid, they walk on me. But otherwise, they just meow. Maybe I should teach them how to play piano!

Hey pye! That is a really cute commercial! Star & Luna have their way of telling me it's time for their canned food dinner! They start to "sing or scream" around 4:00pm and God forbid I am napping! They start walking on top of me, hitting me and yelling! And then they run into the kitchen before I get a chance to get out of the bed! And when the bowls of dry food starts getting low Star goes over the the dishes and points with his paw! As if I don't know what he wants! I have two very smart, but annoying little boys! They are so lucking that I love them so much!

In a way that must be funny how your two kitties sing or scream for their food, annoying at the same time, yet funny. I must have two very mellow cats since they don't do that to me if they are hungry...but then I keep a good supply of dry food filled in their bowl all the time so that keeps them busy...LOL

LOL, yes all the children in here seem to know when to say they're ready for whatever they need. My cat is on a self feeder but she walks around and 'calls' to us when she wants attention (she is blind). The dogs just beg - LMAO, but in a good way. Each animal has their own personality, just like any human has.

One wouldn't think animals would have distinctive personalities but they do. If I had based the personality of my very, very first cat (Babette) I probably would never have gotten more cats as she didn't have a great personality...then came Friskey and that changed my opinion...he was a real cuddly bear of a cat

That is a clever cat. I wonder if the cat can also dial 911. I mean considering its intelligence, it should be able to do something useful.

That is a very cute commercial. In all actuality you are supposed to keep the bowl full and there shouldn't be any reason for the music. They always have food around here or they meow and give us THE LOOK! haha. It seems even cats have their own little personalities and ways of communicating things. Ours just meow and look at us like we are supposed to know. And we usually do.

There was this cat I used to have when I was a little kid. I'd be laying down on my back watching tv... He'd come jump up on my stomach, lay down on me, and put both of his paws on my mouth. It was the oddest thing at first, but then I figured it out. After that every time he did it I would giggle.
