What gifts do you give your neighbors?

I find myself always debating whether what ware or whatever must I give my neighbors for Christmas. I always end up giving fruits or a can of butter cookies. Sounds safe to me because my neighbors are not as neighborly. I mean I do not know their true characters because they rather keep mum about their lives when I get to see them once in a blue, blue moon. I am giving them fruit cakes this Christmas. I do hope they warm up with me.

I wish you are my neighbor for I dearly love fruit cakes. I would even prepare some tea or coffee, flavor your choice.
But I do wish you have a warm and blessed Christmas. I will try to send my angel to bring fruit cake to you.

Well, i have few good neighbors and usually i gave them cakes, salads or cookies i ordered from a friend on Christmas Day itself. That's the only gifts i could think of.

I give mine a smile and a Merry Christmas. I am not a gift giver. If I get something from someone or have a special relationship with someone I will give a some baked goods or at least a card. We are not that close with our neighbors either. We all keep to ourselves pretty much, but we are all polite to one another. Compliment on the yard, have some small talk from time to time. But no dinner parties.

The neighborhood scenario is similar to mine, sigh! But my fruit cakes were well appreciated. I did not receive anything in return. I expected that, I guess. Money is so difficult these days.

it is better if you give gifts to your neighbors as a family, rather than as individual.you can give a gift as "To the _____ family, Merry Christmas, from:____".that way,it will count as you've given the whole family as gifts.there'll be no issues of favoritism or being left-out.also,it will save you some money rather than buying individual gifts.

Yup. The fruit cake was for the whole family although one of the girls asked me for a Barbie cellphone. I told her to write her wish to Santa Claus. But I also told her that it might be too late to ask for a cellphone because that is difficult to build. I told her to ask for a soft pillow instead so she could have dream-filled slumbers the entire Christmas!
