I live in Chennai in India and here the travel bags are somewhat costly to buy and a good travel bag may cost anywhere between 400 and 8oo rupees. But there are even more costly bags. I was only referring to some ordinary travel bags. Are they costly too in your country?

I used to live in Kent and I often popped up to London. I used to go shopping at a shop in Charing Cross Road. It had very cheap bags and backpacks. I got some wonderful deals there. My backpack lasted for about 15 years and it spent more than one year going around the world. Now I live here I go to camping shops if I need to buy a new backpack. I have an indoor market nearby that sells cheap bags. It is a shame bags are so costly in Chennai. Good luck finding a nice bag that is reasonably priced.

Hi cudamani. I think it would have been better if you gave us the equal amount in dollars! I'll convert it- so 400 rupees are more or less 5.5 euros or 8.5 USD.. I think that's quite cheap! The last time I bought a suitcase here in Europe, it costed me 25 euros, and it is more or less the going price in most European countries,And my case was a medium one. I've seen larger bags go for as much as 50-100 euros.
