In the past, there were less people who have credit cards for various personal and business reasons. For various personal and business reasons, too, most of the people nowadays have at least one credit card in their wallets. How do you find credit cards useful in your life? How did these improve your life, if at all?

I don't think credit cards improve your life, they may artificially give you a boost if you buy something nice on them but then if you cant afford that treat then why buy it.
As you will have to pay it back, and then your life will be affected in a negative way.
Credit is far too easy to get in this day and age credit is a priviliege not a right and the sooner people reliese this and only spend the money they actually have the better the economy will be.

Hi, benny. You said it very well. I also think they do not improve the standard of living. It gives us ease in buying expensive items, yes. But you are not getting the item for free, you have to pay it back WITH additional interest and charges, of course ... especially if you opt to pay it on longer terms. On top of that, the credit card company or bank, charges you an annual fee for your membership. Paying cash on our purchases free us from all of these things. Therefore, it saves us money, in the end.
I know of people who ran into trouble with excessive use of their credit cards. They end up blacklisted in credit companies, being sued and humiliated. It would not happen to someone who is in control of their spending habits and it is always nice and peaceful to be debt-free.

Credit card is very useful to me because it gives me some freedom from having a lot of cash in my wallet. Instead of bringing s lot of money I just have to bring a card to go shopping. Isn't that sounds nice? I can buy online from internet too and that is very helpful for international business. However, I am still limiting the usage by having debit card.

Hi, madie. Yes, having credit cards saves us from the hazards of bringing lots of cash inside the wallet. This is especially so in these times of rising criminality on the streets. When you go shopping, you only need to give your credit cards to the cashier of the store. This limits our choice of stores though. There are a lot of stores in our place where they sell very cheap items. Some are smaller stores that do not accept cards. I personally feel that paying cash saves us more because it is free from interest and other charges that a credit card entails. Paying cash gives us a wide choice of stores ... from bigger department stores, malls to small bargain stores.

Hi, neo_matrix. That happens, too. It happens to most of my co-workers here. Some do not have enough control on their spending habits. It is always an easy task to purchase without having to pay it at once. But when collection time comes, it would already become a burden to one, especially if bills are high. It always comes more burdensom for the credit card holder because of added charges and interests on top of the billed amount. Then, there is the annual fee to talk about.

Hi, kafueenu. I very well know the situation that your father went through.
In the office, a lot of co-workers had problems paying their monthly dues on time. When their monthly dues lapse, the credit card companies call them by phone to remind them. This is more especially so if the account is overdue. The credit card companies refer the matter to collection agents. I understand it is the collection agents who are really persistent in their work. They call you hour every hour and you become irritated with them. I am sad that other co-workers have their accounts up for legal action.

How? Well a few things. First of all, I can always rely on my credit cards by placing them in atm to get cash, or give them to the shopkeeper when my wallet is empty. But also, it makes internet buying/selling possible! Imagine if credit cards didn't exist, how can we do online purchasing? It would be very frustrating for most people, which is why I am glad that the credit card was made in the first place.

Hi, borg. Surely it is a lot of ease when you do your purchases online. It is nice to have credit cards for this purpose. It is a lot of help if one does not have ready cash and he wants to buy something expensive. Compared to paying cash, paying by credit cards make it a little expensive because of the interest and charges that the credit company levies on the credit card holders. Just the same, our purchases are to be paid, whether we pay cash or by using credit cards.
