Is your office desk tidy or messy?

I can proudly say that my desk in the moment is exemplary! Everything is where it should be. But if I am honest, that's only the case because I started my Christmas holiday and didn't want to leave it in the mess it was before.
I used to work in an office with a clear desk policy and it really gets you in the good habit of tidying up your desk every evening. But in my current company nobody is bothered and I was just soooo busy. But I'll try to be better next year.
What about you? Do you have a tidy desk or work better in a chaotic environment?

I do have piles and piles of papers and files on my office desk. But, I make sure to have the desk clean, tidy, and organized. Otherwise I won't be able to find the papers I need when I need them. Some times, ofcourse, it gets a bit messy. But, before leaving the office for the day, I would tidy things up and get things in order again.

My desk is so far from being tidy. In fact most the time you can't see the wood at all! I try to clean it up every so often but it becomes the dumping ground for everything. My girls get home and take all their papers from school and lay them on my desk. My husband comes home and he sets stuff on my desk. I spend so much time at my desk that everything is on it lol. Once or twice a year I'll get some urge to clean and I'll take everything off it, dust and put things where they go, but that doesn't last long lol.

Once or twice a year! Wow, I usually lose patience with my own mess at least monthly!
