Linux and Windows  

Well windows is more user friendly and Linux is more robust. Well for searching web, Linux will be more safe, because most of the viruses on the net are for windows. To choose between windows and linux, it greatly depends on for what purpose you are using the comp. If you are just playing games or movies or stuffs like that, then windows would be better, because more games are compatible with windows than linux. Also using WINE in Linux to run windows application will not give the same performance as running it directly in windows. But if you are a programmer the Linux would be better for you because many of the programming stuffs runs in Linux perfectly. It also does not crash like windows and show a blue screen of death.

For me, windows is user-friendly but vulnerable to attacks from hackers and viruses since most people hate microsoft for selling windows operating systems for a huge price. It is also full of bugs since in my own opinion, if microsoft will sell perfect version of windows, people will not buy new windows or upgrades which will mean lower profit margin for the software giant.

Linux operating systems are not user-friendly since most of its versions does not have user interface on it. It uses command line like windows and navigation is not easy for novice users but for experienced users, they prefer using linux bases operating systems more than windows since it is more secure and reliable and faster to load and its free.

Some advantage of Linux over Window

1. Many distro available, you can choose from line-command only (slackware) to full graphic display (RedHat, etc).
2. More secure than Window. Simply because many virus are created to break windows system, thus they won't run on Linux platform.
3. More option to secure your own PC and network (for expert only).
4. Most of Linux distro and software come up with GNU GPL license, in other words, free to use :)
5. Many selection available to fit your PC specification.

Some advantage of Window over Linux
1. User-friendly (though Linux also adopt this now)
2. Lot of software only usable under Windows (mostly game *sigh*)
3. Post-service is better (of course, as they also paid to do this!)
4. Graphic is better than Linux

I never used Linux as my Operating system buy Yes I do have Windows Installed in my Computer.Now in Few days I am also going to install Linux in my Computer as it is a Topic in my Computer Subject.
So I do going to check it out what are the differences of Linux and Windows.Is Linux is better than Windows,If it so I will kept using Linux but I don't know exactly that many PC games will Support it or not.
But Heard Lot of "Linux" Nowadays.

i think lunux is more secure than windows..considering that the majority of threats were written to hit windows system and not unix/linux one that on the contrary can overcome all these kind of malaware,spy,viruses and so on...linux is faster than windows if we consider time to load programs or acess the main memory too and even the bootstrap or shut down is much more fster than in windows also in old pc too!!
Windows on the contrary is in many cases much more user-friendly,high compaibility towards all but it is heavy!!Even the graphic controls are better on windows than linux and lastly on windows you must do nothing just manage it..on linux you need more personalization before using it in a complete way!!Lastly linux is open source so free and have a big amount of programs all free...windows not...may be the open-source will be the future!!
